A message from PresidentLocal churches are the basic foundation of Nepal Baptist Church Council. Our primary concern has been to establish amicable relationship between council and local churches. This year we especially focused ourselves in the work of reconstruction where we left no stone unturned to rescue and rehabilitate the affected churches and families after the massive earthquake - 2015. Along with, we have assisted many affected churches to reconstruct their worship place with the cooperation of national and international partners.

During the year 2016 Nepal Baptist Church Council has achieved many successes in various areas as well as encountered may challenges too. Even though, in such unfavorable circumstances we do not become perplexed but move continuously towards our destination since we were well known that the hand of Almighty is upon us; we can do all this through him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

We are really grateful towards all our churches, partner organizations, national and international well wishers for their partnership with us in each and every circumstance. It is the result of your prayer and motivation that NBCC has got 2016 A.D. as one of the successful years.

A message from General SecretaryPraise the Lord!

I want to extend my gratitude and warm greetings on behalf of Nepal Baptist Church Council to all the churches, fellowships, organizations and individuals for their continuous partnership and prayer. It is our hope and prayer that this process will be continued in coming days with increasing manner.

The year 2016 became blissful for the council because God fulfilled the mission, goals and objectives of council through the partnership of churches, organizations, regional associations and departments by utilizing the limited means and resources. Yes, last year we had to face economical, physical and humanitarian crisis even though having such challenges He fulfilled his work for his glory.

All the accomplished programs and ministry’s results of the year 2016 will be informed by this Annual News Letter – 2016. Let’s hope through this information all the helping hands will get inspiration to do continuous collaboration and investment in order to fulfill His great commission.

God bless us!

We BelieveBible We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible were written by men divinely inspired and are the records of God’s revelation of Himself to mankind. It is a perfect treasure of faith and Christian living. It has God for its author, salvation as its purpose, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its content.

It reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted as the story of God’s redemption as it exists in Jesus Christ. (John 12: 47-50; Heb. 4:12; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)

GodWe believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. All three persons of the Godhead are co-equal and co-eternal and co-infinite. (Ex. 15:11; Duet. 6:4; Matt3:16, Matt. 28:19; John 4:24, 10:30; 2Corinthians 13:14; 1Tim. 6:15; Rev. 4:11)

God the FatherWe believe that God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men. (Ex.15:11; Duet. 6:4; Is. 6:3; Ps. 83:3; Mal.2:10; 1Tim. 6:15-16; Rev. 4:11)

God the SonWe believe Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself

completely with mankind yet is without sin. He honoured the Divine Law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and then He appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, partaking of the nature of God and of man, and in whose Person rris effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord. (Matt.1:18-25; Luke 2:7; John 3:16; Acts 1:22-2; Rom. 14:10-12; 2Cor.5:10-21)

God the Holy SpiritWe believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior and effects regeneration. At the time a person trusts Christ as Saviour and the Lord, he is baptized with the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12:13) He cultivates Christian Character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. These gifts are to be exercised humbly and discreetly for the strengthening of the church and should never be exercised in such a way as to be divisive or destructive. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the assurance of God to bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship and equips them for evangelism and service. (Gen. 1:1-3; Matt. 28:29; John 14:16,26; Acts5:32; Heb. 9:4)

ManWe believe Man is the crowning work of God’s creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin, but by his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace

Page 9: Nepal Baptist Church Councilnbccnepal.org/Downloads/Newsletter English 2016.pdfAnnual News Letter 2016 /1 / A message from President Local churches are the basic foundation of Nepal

Annual News Letter 2016 /7 /

of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. (Gen.1:2; Ps.100:3; Prov.7:29; Acts17:26; Eph.1:4-6)

SalvationWe believe the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace; and made free to all by the Son of God who took upon him our nature, made atonement for our sins by his death, risen from the dead he is now enthrone in heaven. And In order to be saved, we must be regenerated or born again; it is a change of heart, wrought by the power of the Holy Spirit, enlightening their minds spiritually and savingly to understand the word of God. In broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. (John 3:16; Rom.10:9-13; 2Cor.5:14-15; Gal.2:16; Eph. 2:8-9; Col.1:1-3; 2Tim.1:10-11; Titus 2:11)

BaptismWe believe baptism and Lord’s Supper are the two ordinance of the Church. Christian baptism - is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believers’ death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ - (and) a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. (Matt.28: 19-20;Mark 16:16;Acts 2:38-42, 8:35-39; Rom. 6:3-4; Acts 18:8)

The Lord’s SupperWe believe Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, remember and proclaim the death of the Jesus and anticipate His second coming. (Luke22:14-20;Acts 2:40; 1 Cor. 10:16-21; 1 Cor.11:23-28)

Page 10: Nepal Baptist Church Councilnbccnepal.org/Downloads/Newsletter English 2016.pdfAnnual News Letter 2016 /1 / A message from President Local churches are the basic foundation of Nepal

Church and the OfficeWe believe a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believer who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, committed to His teaching, scripturally exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. This church is an autonomous body, operating through democratic process under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe the regular officers of a Church are pastors and Deacons. (Matt. 16:18-19, Matt.28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor. 12:2, 12-13; Eph. 4:11-13; Col.1:18)

Worship DayWe believe consecrating a day to the Lord, and believers coming together for cooperate worship is the part of Christian Living. It is a Christian principle based upon biblical teaching to encourage believers to meet together for regular worship; teaching of doctrine, fellowship, praying, and the observance of the ordinances. (Ex20:8-11; Acts 2:42; Heb10:24,25)

Kingdom of GodWe believe Kingdom of God is God ruling sovereignly over all His works as King. This includes both His general sovereignty over the universe and His particular kingship over men who willfully acknowledge Him as king. Particularly the Kingdom is the realm of salvation into which men enter by trustful childlike commitment to Jesus Christ. (Matt. 6:10, 11:12, 28:18-20; Luke 17:20- 18:1-30)

Second Advent of ChristWe believe God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His Promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. ( Matt. 24:36, Acts 1:7, Rev1:7, 1

Th2;19, 4,16-17 )

Evangelism & MissionWe believe it is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. The new birth of man’s spirit by God’s Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort on the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of the regenerate life, and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teaching of Christ. (Matt. 28: 18-20; Mk.16: 15,16; Lk.24:47; Acts 1:8)

EducationWe believe the church itself is a school. Jesus told His followers to make disciples and to teach them all things He had commanded them. It is the responsibility of the church to provide systematic Christian education for the believers which would assist them in living exemplary Christian lives in the community. (Deut. 4:9; Matt.28:18-; 2Tim 2:2)
