Introduction Welcome to the Nestlé Waters Direct - Drivers Handbook - Key Points. This Handbook is core to our business values as it acts as guidance and ensures compliance ensuring the safety of our employees and their families. It also gives guidance on ecodriving to reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles on the environment. The principles in this handbook are applicable to all company drivers. This commitment is based on the desire to provide a working environment, which will protect the physical and mental health of all employees and other persons where appropriate.

Safe Driving Policy Summary

Introduction Nestlé Waters Direct recognises its duties under the European Council Directive 89/391 - Safety Framework Directive, Health and Safety at Work Policy and its obligations relating to road transport legislation, and is committed to reducing the risks associated with vehicle use (this includes the use of rental vehicles), so far as is reasonably practicable. The safe driving of all vehicles on the public highway while conducting business is paramount to ensure the Health and Safety of NW DIRECT employee and others who may be affected by these actions. This document forms part of the employment contract. To meet with these obligations in respect of employees driving on Company business, the Company will require that:

Conditions 1. Employees who drive on business are legally entitled to drive and hold a valid Licence. Copies of Licences to be maintained and checked annually by the Local Fleet department. Drivers must report all Driving convictions (and points) to Fleet within 24 hours of receiving them. Drivers Declarations must be completed at minimum every 12 months and returned to the Fleet department. 2. Employees shall not use Company vehicles unless authorised and licensed to do so. 3. Motor vehicles must operate within the maximum permissible weight and be safely loaded. Under no circumstances are vehicles to be operated whilst overloaded. 4. Employees shall not operate a vehicle if they suspect they may be under the influence of alcohol, drugs (including over the counter and prescription drugs) or fatigue, and shall not operate a vehicle if they or their Line Manager suspect they are physically or mentally unfit to do so.

Incidents

5. Drivers must report all incidents, accidents, defects, theft or

damage to management immediately within 3 hours, and must

ensure any vehicle safety related defects or other safety related

issues are rectified and addressed before commencement of a

journey. Accidents that result in a fatality MUST be reported

Vevey within 24 hours on a “Serious Incident Announcement

Form” the completion of this form will be coordinated by NW

Direct SHE. Within one month of the fatality a “Serious Incident

Investigation Form” must be completed and also sent to Vevey.

Managers shall ensure that road traffic incidents are investigated

with the same rigour as any other industrial accident and

reported as per NW Direct accident reporting procedures and

KPI‟s maintained.

General Drivers must adhere to the Company‟s health and Safety procedures. Drivers must not misuse their Company vehicles and drive dangerously. Anyone driving must show courtesy to other road users and pedestrians, even when proved and display good manners at all times. 6. Employees driving on business shall ensure that the vehicle is kept in a legal and roadworthy condition and their vehicle meets scheduled service and inspection dates. Employees must also keep vehicle exteriors and interiors clean at all times. Managers will ensure that regular safety inspections are maintained to ensure the roadworthiness of the vehicle. 7. Drivers MUST only use approved hands-free devices that meet company guidelines for equipment such as mobile phones. These devices must be legally complaint and meet company guidelines. Devises must be installed (in compliance to local legislation) in a hands free position. Do not use a HAND held phone or other devise whilst driving this includes your personal mobile phone.

8. Employees driving on Regular NW Direct business are adequately assessed for competence and receive relevant training where necessary. Vehicle operators must be aware of current road traffic legislation. Please refer to the Local authorities‟ regulations for updates as necessary. Safe Delivery Training is provided to all employees of commercial vehicles. Depot Managers shall ensure that all „Agency Drivers‟ are provided with local safety instructions. 9. A Daily Vehicle Check must be undertaken by the Driver before a vehicle is used, and any defects or symptoms of defects that could adversely affect the safe operation of the vehicle must be made in writing to the supervisor. Provision must be made by Fleet / Depot to rectify the work. 10. Vehicles will be serviced regularly in line with the manufacture‟s recommendations). Breakdowns must be reported immediately to the supervisor and Fleet department. 11. Seat belts MUST be worn at all times. 12. Safe and Eco driving and other stated procedures must be followed as stated in Drivers Handbook - Key Points. 13. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT. Driving requires extra protective measures. Your Manager / Supervisor will tell you about any special protective clothing and equipment you have to wear. Uniforms must be worn and kept clean. Drivers are required to carry their PPE at all time. In particular High Visibility Clothing must be worn in the vicinity of moving vehicles and especially in poor lighting conditions. 14. Employees must notify their line manger and Fleet of any changes in circumstances (health, driving licenses) which may affect their or their nominated driver‟s ability to driver. Failure to comply with this Policy and failure to operate your vehicle in a safe manner may lead to disciplinary and legal action.

Safety Rules By following these basic rules we can reduce the chances of an accident:

Read and follow all Nestle Waters Direct “Safe Work Practices” and think about the safety of others

Drive within the local legal law requirements, follow the speed limit.

Inform your line manager of all accidents, first aid cases, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.

Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment assigned to the job.

Never use faulty equipment.

Use safe lifting techniques.

Carry no more than three bottles on a trolley on stairs and do not overload trolley in during normal operation

Do not operate machinery or equipment unless authorised.

If a pedestrian and be mindful of forklift trucks and other vehicles. If a forklift driver take care of pedestrians

Always wear a seat belt when provided in vehicles (FLT, Truck, Car etc)

Do not use your phone when driving (unless hands free)

Maintain three points of contact when climbing on a delivery truck

I keep your work place clean and tidy

I do not touch movable equipment without specific training

I always use a pedestrian path when available

Know your First Aider.

Know the emergency phone numbers and emergency meeting points

Know your fire drill and evacuation procedure.

Drivers’ Safety Risk Analysis Driving is a high risk activity, with potential to cause fatalities, injuries and asset damage. Everyone who drives on business, but particularly Water Delivery Drivers, must be adequately trained and hold an appropriate, valid driving licence. It is everyone‟s responsibility and duty of care to ensure safe working practices, all work instructions and health and safety procedures, including those at customer‟s premises, are followed at all times. Management is responsible for the following areas: • Recruit „competent‟ employees and / or provide adequate technical training. • Provide adequate induction and Health and Safety Training. • Carry out regular competency assessments. • Monitor performance, review accidents and near misses. • Provide appropriate PPE.

PPE and Signage

The following Regulations and Minimum Training standards apply. Regulations: Driving licence, NW Direct Safety guideline form and Driving Policy. Training: Safe Delivery training, Driver training, Safety Awareness Training, Fire Safety training, Manual Handling training, Health and Hygiene training and Safe Driving. All drivers should be aware of the following hazards, risks and controls.

Alcohol, Drugs and Fatigue Drinking and driving is both illegal and dangerous; it causes death and suffering. Do not operate a vehicle if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs (including over the counter and prescription drugs) or fatigued. Do not operate a vehicle if you are physically or mentally unfit to do so.

Avoiding Driver Fatigue Fatigue contributes to approximately 20% of crashes and is as dangerous as drink driving! Being fatigued significantly raises the risk of a crash. It makes us less alert to what is happening on the road, and less able to react quickly and safely if a dangerous situation arises.

Are You At Risk? Drive in the early morning? Driving for over two hours without taking a break? Travel in the „afternoon lull‟ (1-4pm), when the „biological clock‟ makes us feel sleepy? Start a big trip after a long day‟s work? Have a sleep disorder e.g. sleep apnea ? Fatigue danger signs: Constant yawning. Drifting in the lane. Sore or heavy eyes. Trouble keeping your head up. Delayed reactions. Daydreaming. Difficulty remembering the last few kilometres. Variations in driving speed. The best approach is to avoid fatigue: • Get regularly sleep. • Plan your journeys. • Be aware of your biological clock. • Take regular rest breaks to help avoid the onset of fatigue. • Eat well-balanced meals at your normal meal times.

Daily Vehicle Checks A daily walk around check must be undertaken before a vehicle is used, and any defects or symptoms of defects that could adversely affect the safe operation of the vehicle must be made in writing and provision by Fleet / Depot to rectify the work.

Daily checks should include the following: • Fuel, oil and brake fluid. • Lights including: brake lights, hazard lights and indicators. • Brakes and brake hose. • Battery security / condition. • Reflectors. • Wheel fixing. • Tyre including: tread, inflation and spares. • Seat belts. • Electric connections. • Wipers / Washer Fluid. • Steering. • Security of load. • Horn. • Mirrors. • Excessive exhaust smoke.

Safe Driving - 10 Steps Effective route planning. Daily vehicle checks to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy. Wear your correct Personal Protective Equipment at all times. Immediately before setting off you should: • Check and alter driving position. • Check and alter mirrors to ensure maximum visibility. • Familiarise yourself with the controls e.g. signals, lights, windscreen wipers and horn. • Wear seat belt and ensure all passengers do so. • Drive safely, take a break if you are tired and never „drink and drive‟ - avoid fatigue. • Keep compliant - Stay legal comply with speed limits and traffic signs. • Driving Behaviours. • Look ahead, to spot problems, and gain extra time to work out what to do next. • Move your eyes to stay alert and scan the „full road environment‟. • Keep space around you. • Be seen by others. • Only use a hands free mobile phone or equipment. • Park safely. • Switch off, remove the keys. • Secure the vehicle. • Report any problems, vehicle defects or incidents immediately. • Be polite; act as an ambassador for the company and a role model for passengers.

Eco Driving The company is committed to environmental protection throughout its operations. Eco drivers plan their journey in advance and keep the vehicle moving steadily to reduce gear changes, save fuel, improve safety margins, cut journey times and vehicle emissions. TOP TIPS for Eco Driving: acceleration, braking, clutch control, gears and tank filling.

Acceleration and Appropriate Use of Speed • Speeding is illegal, increases braking distances, jeopardises road safety and reduces fuel efficiency. It also puts extra stress on the engine and transmission system, resulting in shorter component life and increased maintenance costs. • Using cruise control, whenever safe and practicable results in lower fuel consumption less engine and driveline wear and less driver fatigue. • Lower revs give higher levels of fuel economy, produce less air pollution and are less stressful for the driver.

Braking • Smooth braking saves fuel and reduces stress on the driver, vehicle and load by minimising and avoiding having to stop completely. Speed that has been lost has to be made up by using the accelerator pedal, thereby burning fuel. • Harsh braking uses more fuel and increases the number of gear changes resulting in greater fuel loss, and increased likelihood of loads shifting.

Clutch Control and Gears • Excessive clutch use causes driver fatigue and unnecessary wear on the vehicle. • The fewer the gear changes, the less the physical activity needed by the driver and the more fuel efficient the operation. • Reducing the number of gear changes also creates a safer environment.

• Holding the vehicle on the „biting point‟ whilst stationary wastes fuel and increases wear. Use the handbrake.

Filling Fuel Tank • Take care not to overfill the fuel tank, which allows fuel to leak through the breather. • Never leave a fuel nozzle unattended when filling the tank.

Home Road Safety It is important to us that you not only drive safely whilst at work but also that you and your family take care at all times whilst using the road. This is particularly important because most road accidents happen very close to home, often within the communities in which we live and work. Protect passengers from injuries: • Properly maintain vehicle (brakes, tyres, lights etc). • Always wear seat belts. • Do not Drink and Drive. • Drive Defensively. • Avoid riding in the cargo area (bed) of a pickup truck or any other vehicle. To protect children: • Children should always travel in vehicles equipped with safety belts and should always ride restrained using a belt or child safety seat. Pedestrian Road Safety: • Walk; do not run into the street. • Do not let young children cross the street alone. Avoid walking or biking at night. • Do not let young children play in driveways, streets, parking lots or yards that are unfenced and near a busy street. • Encourage children to walk in groups. • Look both ways before crossing the street. • Use sidewalks. • Walk facing road traffic if there are no sidewalks. • Cross using available traffic and pedestrian signals. • Be aware of moving vehicles. • Dress in light colours and wear reflective material so drivers can easily see you. • Educate your family on road safety in particular children. Basic rules of bicycle and motorbike safety: • Stay alert. • Ride so drivers and cyclists can see you - wear High Visibility Clothing. • Use designated motorbike / bicycle lanes when available.

• Ride single file and with the flow of traffic, not against it. • Obey traffic signs, signals, and lane markings. Signal your moves to others. • Be courteous to pedestrians and other vehicle operators. • Try to avoid biking at night. Equipment: • Bicycles should be the correct size according to the rider‟s height, weight, and age. • Check bicycles for properly working parts, brakes, reflectors and tires. • Wear a certified bicycle or motorcycle helmet when riding. Driver Assessment: All Nestle Waters Direct employees must under go drivers assessment when they first join the company and periodically as a part of their route training programme.

Seatbelts Drivers and passengers have to wear their seatbelts in the front and the back at all times: • Always wear your seatbelt whilst driving. • Tell all front and rear seat passengers to wear their seat belts. • Ensure children are correctly seated and belted on all journeys.

Hygiene and Housekeeping Hygiene: • Your personal cleanliness is imperative to safeguard of our product. • Your hands are to be washed on a regular basis to keep free from dirt and bacteria. • Hands must be thoroughly washed before resuming work especially after visiting the toilet. Housekeeping: • Vehicles must be kept clear of litter and clean at all times. • All items are to be stored neatly and tidily. • PPE should be kept clean and accessible. • Smoking is not allowed on site or in enclosed areas (cabs) - sites may allow smoking in open designated areas only. • Our product can be easily contaminated by strong smells or polluting substances. The product must not be transported with any tainting or polluting substances.

Safe Handling – Good Posture and Balance

Get in and out of your vehicle to avoid injury. 1. Ensure proper grip and footing with three points of contact. You should never jump into the truck.

2. Back out while maintaining proper grip and footing with three points of contact.

Ways to handle your truck and its equipment. 1. Ensure doors are unlocked before opening.

2. Never Force a jammed door.

3. When opening and closing roll-up doors, use both hands and maintain an athletic stance. Start slowly – do not jerk the door open. Never open or close the doors with only one hand.

How to remove and handle bottles and equipment from the truck 1. Removing Product Begin the route by removing product in the “comfort zone”. On the last pallet, unload bottles from top to bottom.

4. Stairs keep one hand free for support use the hand rail. You never want to take two steps at a time. Only carry one bottle.

How to use your trolley without over loading it 1. Use trolleys to transport 2 3 or 4 bottles. It‟s also a good idea to use your trolley • Use smooth movements. • Always report any ailments or injuries associated with manual handling. • When using upright trolley, do not stand trolley vertical, as bottles may roll off. • When loading, lay trolley at angle of rest and ensure bottles slot into correct position, preventing movement. • Check trolley for any defects, prior to use. • When carrying one/two bottles for long distances. • The more you use your trolley to carry the product the better you‟ll feel at the end of the day. 2. Exercise and Stretching

Why exercise and keep active Physical activity can prevent many major illnesses. Evidence shows that regular exercise can:

• promote healthy blood sugar levels to prevent or control diabetes

• promote bone density to protect against osteoporosis • increase levels of HDL or "good" cholesterol -reducing the

risk of developing heart disease • lower high blood pressure-reducing the risk of developing

heart disease • boost the immune system • boost self-confidence and help prevent depression • in combination with a balanced diet, help to maintain a

healthy weight

Why exercise before starting your delivery route • Stretching and exercising prepares the body for the day of

physical activity ahead. By warming the muscles. • Stretching increases flexibility and this directly translates into

reduced risk of injury. • Stretching also is thought to improve recovery and may

enhance athletic performance.

Before your start stretching • Relax it is very important to relax during the stretching

routine. It should not be a rushed event. Don't think about your job and don't look at others working out. The "I've got to hurry up and do this so I can go" attitude is counter productive. This is a time to slow your breathing and to free your mind.

Accident Reporting

Reportable Injuries • First Aid injuries must be reported and recorded locally. • Minor Injuries must be reported and recorded. You SHE co-ordinator must be made aware so they can be recorded in Nestles data base • Injuries which require more than 24 hours (Lost Time Injures) off work must be reported and recorded by your supervisor and passed to your SHE co-ordinator with in 24 hours so these people may intern report the accident to NW Direct SHE with in 48 hours.. • Serious injuries or fatalities. The incident must be reported to the manager immediately, which then have to be reported to Senior Management Teams as they must be reported to Vevey with in 24 hours. • With regard to all accidents; Record the information about the accident and any witnesses and provide as much information to your manager as possible..

Dangerous Occurrence or Near Miss If something happens which does not result in a reportable injury, but which clearly could have done, then it may be a reportable dangerous occurrence or near miss, which must be reported immediately. Examples of dangerous occurrences or near miss: Avoidance of collision – with people, vehicles and other objects

Reportable ROAD ACCIDENTS

If You Have An Accident • STOP. • Remain calm, even if provoked by other parties. Do not argue or show aggression. • Call the emergency services (international emergency number 112) if anyone is injured or there is serious damage to vehicles or property. If the police attend the scene, note the reporting officer's name, number and station. • Record information about the accident, exchange details with third parties and take the name and address of witnesses. In particular:

• Time.

• Third Part drivers name and address.

• Third party insurers and policy number.

• Names and address of all witnesses.

• Road name and / or number.

• Road lighting conditions.

• A brief sketch of the accident, showing positions of the

vehicles before and after impact and any relevant signs etc.

• Details of any injured party.

• Details of any media company.

• Any other relevant information.

• If a camera is available, photograph the scene from

different angles. Include vehicles in their impact position,

damage to your own and third party vehicles / property, skid

marks and signposts.

• Contact your depot supervisor and / or the insurance

department immediate or as soon as it is practical to do so

with the above details.

Summary

Daily Check your vehicle for safety. Wear your correct Personal Protective Equipment. Wear your seat belt and ensure all passengers do as well. Drive Safely at all Times. Keep within the legal speed limits. Report any issues / incidents immediately.
