Wi-Fi Access ControllersThe NetVanta 150 is hosted through a variety of NetVanta Wi-Fi Access Controllers. CompatibleWi-Fi controllers include the award-winning NetVanta Multiservice Access Routers: NetVanta 3448 and 1335; and NetVanta Modular Routers: NetVanta 3430, 4305, and 5305. Each of theseWi-Fi controllers is capable of managing up to24 NetVanta Wi-Fi products. Other compatible Wi-Fi Access Controllers include the fixed-port NetVanta 3120 and 3130; the modular NetVanta 3200 and 3205; NetVanta 6355 and Total Access 900/900e IP business gateways; and NetVanta 7000 Series of IP Communication Platforms. Each of these Wi-Fi controllers is capable of managing up to eight NetVanta Wi-Fi products.

Multiple Management OptionsAll NetVanta products run the standard ADTRAN® Operating System (AOS). The AOS offers a standard Command Line Interface (CLI) that mimics the widely adopted, industry de facto standard. The sequence of commands to configure similardevices is almost identical, virtually eliminating training costs associated with learning a newoperating system.

In addition, the AOS also features an intuitiveWeb-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) withstep-by-step configuration wizards and the ability to upload firmware updates. Virtual Access Points toSegment Wireless LANThe NetVanta® Wi-Fi® solutions employ Virtual AccessPoints (VAPs), the equivalent of wireless Virtual LANs (VLANs). Each wireless radio in the NetVanta Seriessupports up to eight unique VAPs, enabling enterprisecustomers to securely segment their wireless networktraffic, like that of their wired network. In addition, asingle VAP can be supported across multiple NetVantaWi-Fi solutions which makes it perfect for larger coverage areas and roaming scenarios. The NetVanta 3448with PoE powers each 802.3af compliant NetVanta 150and acts as the wireless access controller to centrallymanage each NetVanta 150 throughout the network.

Secure Wireless Networking The NetVanta Wi-Fi solutions offer business-class security features like shared key authentication, MAC authentication, as well as Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), and WPA2 sup-port. In this case, the NetVanta 150 is using 802.1x user authentication with a Radius Server to authenticate valid users accessing the corporate wireless network and provides central password/user management. Together these security standards ensure a highly pro-tected business-class wireless network infrastructure.
