bout It G L Penny JUDGE R C WARREN At six oclock CO minutes r H Fri day Nov 1st 1907 the spirit of Judg Richard C Warren took its flight Hi had suffered from a three weeks pre- vious ¬ illness superinduced possibly by a surgical operation performed last Au ¬ gust for the removal of a tumor on the neck The operation was successfully performed and with but little loss of time he recovered sufficiently to resume life official duties He failed to appear at his regular county court on the sec- ond ¬ Monday of October and from that date until lis death he steadily declined It is not known that his death was caused even remotely by the tumor for it was pronounced benign by patholo gists who made a microscopic test but in the popular mind the two things are associated as bearing the relation of cause and effect Judge Warren was born in Lincoln county April 4 1841 After his birth Boyle county was organized and his fathers farm was included within the new county He graduated at Centre College in 1862 and alter graduating taught one term in one of iU departments He en ¬ tered tho Senior Class of the Louisville Law School in September 1865receiv Ing his diploma in March 1866 He im¬ mediately located in Stanford for the practice of his profession forming a partnership for that purpose with Judge R J Breckinndge In 1874 he was elected county attorney for Lincoln county serving one term In 1880 he was elected Commonwealths Attorney for the Eighth Judicial district serving ono term In 1889 he was chosen to represent his county in the General As- sembly ¬ In 1893 he was appointed mas ¬ ter commissioner of the Lincoln circuit court serving 11 years In 1905 he was elected county judge and died when his term was about half out Judge Warren had lived In Stanford about 416 years lie practiced his pro ¬ fession continuously all these years in this and adjacent counties at one time In partnership with Col W G Welch and later with Judgo M C Sauflev Ho was married on Jan 9th 1872 at Lancaster Ky to Miss Charlotte L Duncan and is survived by her five laughters and one son Thus has passed from mortal view an upright wellknown and well loved man Death did not take
