Practices: ChurchThis section considers the diversity of Christian churches including featuresand ways of worship. The social and community functions of churches areconsidered locally, for example food banks, the Salvation Army and ShelterCymru, and globally, for example inter-faith dialogue and ways of workingfor social justice including campaigning about the persecution of Christians.

Diversity of ChristianityThere are different denominations of Christianity in the world: RomanCatholic, Anglican (Church of England and the Church in Wales), andmany non-conformist churches, such as Baptists, Methodists, UnitedReformed and the Salvation Army.

Diverse features of churches and chapelsAs the prime function of churches and chapels is to provide for acts ofworship, their design and layout and furnishings will usually reflect someof the beliefs and practices of Christianity in general, and the particulardenomination the building serves.Use the summaries and diagrams below and on pages 22—23 to ensurethat you can write about the features of different churches or chapels.
