Coal & Coke is heterogeneous in both its size and composition, meaning it can exhibit wide quality variations within a single cargo. The Alfred H Knight Group was first established in 1881 to provide service to the solid fuels industries with independent weight determination, inspection, supervision and analytical services.

We are a totally independent, family owned business spanning our fourth generation of the Knight family. The business is managed centrally by its UK head office, and still remains a privately owned company with over 3,000 staff worldwide.
