Refrigerated centrifugation – Eppendorf is the solution

Centrifuge 5415 R

The refrigerated 24-place Centrifuge 5415 R: A convincing combination of matchless quality and the experience of the no. 1 worldwide provider of refrigerated microcentrifuges. Top-class made by Eppendorf.

The Centrifuge 5415 R offers the unmistakable ease-of-use of an Eppendorf product. With the familiar dials enabling quick and easy setting of speed and time.

The extremely smooth running motor prevents unnecessary vibrations after the centrifuge process. The optional aerosol-tight rotor allows an even broader range of applications.

The Eppendorf Centrifuge 5415R – the centrifuge of the future – even today!

Product features of the Centrifuge 5415 R

* Eppendorf centrifuges are designed for separating substance mixtures with different densities, especially for processing and analyzing samples from the human body in an in vitro diagnostic application, in order to enable the use of the in vitro diagnostic device in accordance with its in-tended purpose. Therefore, centrifuges used as in vitro diagnostic accessories are themselves in vitro diagnostic devices according to Directive 98/79/EC of the European Parliament and the Council dated October 27, 1998 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices.Eppendorf centrifuges are intended exclusively for use indoors, and for operation by qualifi ed staff.

** Lid tested for aerosol-tightness by the Centre for Applied Microbiology & Research, Porton Down.

*** The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is proprietary to Hoffmann-La Roche.

PCR strip rotor

‡ Max. speed 10,000 rpm (max. rcf: 10,600 × g) ‡ Up to 6 × 8-tube strips, 6 × 5-tube strips or 48 indi-vidual 0.2 ml PCR tubes

The refrigerated 30-place Centrifuge 5417 R requires a minimum of bench space and offers you a very low access height. The clear display and the convenient keypad guarantee easy and intuitiv operation. With short acceleration and braking times at max. rcf, and its high capacity, the Centrifuge 5417 R manages even high sample throughputs with fl ying colors. The standby cooling, keeps the centrifuge at the required temperature after the centrifuge run.

Product features of the Centrifuge 5417 R

‡ Small footprint – low access height‡ Easy switching between rpm and rcf – eliminating tedious

calculations‡ Separate Short Spin key with adjustable speed for quick spins‡ Smooth start/stop function to protect sensitive samples‡ Accommodating suitable up to fi ve rotors, such as

24-place high-speed rotor PCR strip rotor***6 × 8 PCR strips

‡ Automatic rotor detection system with speed limitation

Swing-bucket rotor

‡ 8 places for 1.5/2 ml micro test tubes‡ Max. speed: 10,000 rpm (max. rcf: 10,600 × g)‡ For pellet formation at the bottom

of the tube when working with small samples

Fixed-angle rotors

‡ Adapters available for 0.2 ml PCR tubes and 0.4 ml centrifuge tubes as well as 0.5 ml micro test tubes and 0.6 ml Microtainers®

‡ Max. rcf/max. speed: 25,000 × g/16,400 rpm‡ Rotors, rotor lids and adapters are autoclavable

(20 min, 121 °C); the FA-45-24-11 and FA-45-30-11 rotors with lid can even be autoclaved for 2 hours at 140 °C in order to eliminate prion contamination

* Aerosol-tightness has been tested and approved in accordance with the procedure of Bennett et al. from the Centre for Applied Microbiology & Research in Porton Down, CAMR, Great Britain, and in accordance with annex AA of the IEC 1010-2-020 safety standard. The test procedure simulates the accidental release of biological material (bacteria) inside the closed rotor or closed rectangular bucket. Air and swab samples are taken to ensure that no material is released from the closed rectangular buckets or closed rotor during operation.
