New Composite Pipe Technology on Display at Valéron Strength Films

Houston TX May 20, 2013 -- Composite Fluid Transfer showcased a new quick disconnect system for their

thermoplastic composite reinforced pressure pipe at Valéron Strength Films in Houston. The

revolutionary pipe technology is ideal for water transfer applications using 10.5” pipe rated at 250 psi.

Strong demand from the energy industry for fracking has spurred development of this lightweight (128

lbs. per 30 ft. joint) high pressure thermoplastic pipe. In addition to butt fused pipe, the Kilgore, TX

based company now offers a leak-free quick connect that makes installation and removal in the field a

snap. Two people can easily carry the pipe and make the connections without the use of cranes or

specialized material handling equipment. This new system greatly reduces the total cost of ownership in

the field.

Valéron was pleased to provide the venue for meeting with distributors and energy companies in

Houston to support the growth of Composite Fluid Transfer. Valéron Strength Films manufactures the

protective outer wrap supporting the glass fiber thermoplastic pipe. Valéron Strength Films GM, Clint

Beutelschies, commented “As an ITW division, we understand the transformative value of innovation in

new markets. This technology from Composite Fluid Transfer offers a unique value proposition for the

energy industry, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of the product introduction

with customers and end users in Houston.”
