ICTS EUROPE SYSTEMS UPDATE

New Developments

Following a successful pilot at BLR, AirAsia have decided to expand their us-age of the mobile unit to following Indian airports: Delhi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Im-phal and Visakhapatnam, and also to Manila in the Philippines. Quote from the head of AirAsia India Ground Operations: “We would like to thank you for the effective smart check-in tool given to the airlines at BIAL in the form of the Mo-bile Roving Kiosk. This has proved useful and a queue buster for us, and we have emerged doing about 40% of our loads of August 2016 using both the Standalone and Rov-ing Kiosks, which is a first for any airport in India. Such measures keep enhancing the customer ser-vice delivery as well as the through-put of the concourse.”

New Wins

TravelDoc Air Europa

Air Europa, a Sky Team member and one of the leading airlines connecting Eu-rope to South America, have chosen to implement TravelDoc as their automat-ed document check (ADC) software on Amadeus Altéa. This decision follows an extensive, in-depth analysis, and ICTS Europe Sys-tems is proud that another major carrier has found TravelDoc to be beneficial, attractive and best-suited to meet the growing challenges of automation in pas-senger processes. Air Europa has now joined EVA Air, Norwegian, Icelandair, Air France and KLM as Altéa carriers implementing TravelDoc on Amadeus, together with EasyJet, AirAsia, Tigerair, Scoot, Alaska Airlines, Vueling, Volotea, Porter Airlines, Res2, iPort, HK Express, and others using TravelDoc as their ADC.

After a successful pilot phase at BLR Airport with “fast kiosks” and two mobile units serving more than a thousand passengers daily, BLR has decided to ex-tend its usage and install sixteen additional kiosks along the check-in area and entry points of the terminal in order to improve passenger processing and cus-tomer services.

Bangalore Airport

IndiGo is the latest airline to join the Mobile Check-in project at BLR, geared towards improving the check-in process, saving the airlines time and costs, and enhancing passenger services. IndiGo have already added these “fast kiosks” at BLR, allowing passengers to reprint their boarding passes.

IndiGo Mobile Check-In

Sabre Red App TravelDoc has been transformed into an app and is now being tested on the Sabre Red App Centre to be available to travel agencies and GHA. This is an-other step forward for our TravelDoc software, which is now being tailored to suit the requirements of the GDS and travel agency sector. Sabre has integrated TravelDoc into their local tool to improve client service. They followed in the footsteps of IAA in integrating TravelDoc into their website to provide better information to passengers.

Eagle – RCCL RCCL (Royal Caribbean International), an existing client of Eagle, have extended their licence and moved to the cloud to offer better services and improve opera-tional efficiency.

INTERCEPTIONS

On 29 September, 2 passengers holding Chi-nese passports were intercepted by ICTS per-sonnel while attempting to board a US carrier. The passengers were travelling together from Madrid to New York JFK. During check-in both passengers were very calm. During the check-in procedures it tran-spired that the passengers had no common lan-guage with the ICTS security agent, though some limited communication was made possible with a translator application. The ICTS agent re-ported the passports and visas to the ICTS su-pervisor on duty as per local procedures. The supervisor noticed that there was discernible lack of quality in the US visas, in particular the lack of colour and the smooth intaglio area on the top right of the document. Upon closer in-spection, the ICTS supervisor noted that the mi-croprint below the photos on the passport data

Forged passports detected by ICTS at Barcelona Airport

page was blurry, and also observed that the pho-to of the female passenger did not seem to match the photograph in the passport. The CBP agents at Madrid airport were contact-ed to confirm the authenticity of the US visas and it was confirmed that both visas were forged. CBP also confirmed that the passport numbers were authentic but that both passports were reported as stolen. Both passengers, who had grown very nervous, were escorted to the local police station – but while en route to the police station they man-aged to flee, leaving the passports (which they had admitted to having purchased in Barcelona in August) behind. The police confirmed that the visas were forged and that the passport data pages had been sub-stituted.

Airport Security Conference

2016, 27-28 September 2016,

London Heathrow

ICTS UK & Ireland were GOLD Sponsors of this year’s Airport Security Conference in London, and Ilan Weinmann, Director, Prod-uct Quality Control and Training for the ICTS Europe Group took part in a panel discus-sion, speaking for the motion: “This house believes that the deployment of Behavioural Analysis Solutions to identify negative intent is as important as screening passengers and their baggage for prohibited and restrict-ed items.”

With heightened security checks across the globe, the Airport Security Conference brought together se-curity professionals and analysts to share and discuss the impact of changing security regulations as well as showcase how leaner, state-of-the-art systems are being implemented to increase security and enhance passenger experience.

The Aviation Festival exhibition featured the lat-est technology and services available to airlines. Its main focus was on the revenue and customer side of the airline business, and the technologies and strategies that airlines need to meet and de-light their customers in order, in turn, to achieve their revenue growth objectives.
