Successfully awarded a Certificate in Higher Education in Geography.

Completed a computer course (CLAIT) in Microsoft word processing and spread sheets/ Excel as well as Powerpoint and microsoft outlook.

Currently studying (of which I am more than halfway) part time via distance learning towards a BA Honours degree with the Open University in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE).

Personal information:

I have been in the hospitality industry since 2008. I first started working for a family run small theme park catering for the under tens (Sundown Adventureland) in Nottinghamshire. Here I started off as a café assistant/ before moving up to admissions as well as outlets. I have fond memories of working there and I am still in touch with the owner at present.

Then I moved onto working in hotels. I spent a year with Warner Leisure Hotels at Thoresby Hall Hotel and spa also in food and beverage. This 4- star hotel was valuable experience into fine dining. This was continued as I relocated to Scotland and started working at MacDonald Hotels and later on for the Bonham Hotel in Edinburgh. This hotel caters for holidaymakers as well as businessmen and women but also corporate events.

In the summer of 2016 I decided to travel and see some more of the world. My employers at Principal Hotels kindly kept my place while I worked in Spain for the summer. In Mallorca I met some really lovely people and have to say Majorca is a wonderful place. It was hard work in the summer tourist season but well worth travelling for. It also improved my Spanish enormously.

Outside of work my main interests are politics, economics and current affairs and journalism as well as languages. One day I hope to pursue this line more and would consider standing as a candidate for office. My current degree course is valuable towards this. In February 2016 I took part in work placement schemes working alongside local Edinburgh councillors Lesley hinds, Cammy Day and Marion Donaldson as well as MSPs Malcolm Chisholm in the Scottish Parliament (the then MSP for Edinburgh North). This was incredible as it allowed me to see more how the political process works as well as giving me some knowledge of office admin work taking part in tasks such as filing, posting mail and so on.

On the whole I hope I am a people person, approachable, versatile, well-educated yet not arrogant.
