FE/Pipe v6.6 – New Features
New Convergence Report
A new mesh stress convergence report is produced in the Stress-Notes. This report is based on the differences
between averaged and not averaged stresses in the high stress areas of the model. The Convergence Report
contains the maximum error percentage for each load case and the stress values that resulted in that difference.
Finite element mesh results are often considered acceptable when the largest difference between averaged and
not averaged stresses is less than 5%. This report appears for all FE/Pipe and NozzlePRO models.

Addition of Radial Restraint to the Tank template
This helps the user see what the sensitivity is for the tank solution. Users should run the model with and without
this option selected to compare the resultant radial displacements.
NozzlePRO v8.6
See NozzlePRO v8.6 section below.
AxiPRO v3.6
Thermal Transient Capability has been updated.
MatPRO v4.0
• Single Harmonized and Updated User Interface: The three separate and different MATPRO User
Interfaces have been replaced by a single, consistent, and more functional User Interface.
• Performance Enhancements :
o Loads Up To 7x Faster
o Can now perform unfiltered list selection of all available materials
o Faster Filtering
o Revised Temperature display:
Old display shows "hot" and "cold" values
New display shows actual "cold" temperature, and all temperatures used in PCL-Gold.

• Simplified Crack and LTA Evaluations Screen now includes Error Notice Icons.
PAULIN Research Group New Features List Page 4 of 10
MatPRO v4.0 New Features continued...
• Improved LTA grid measurements: unlimited maximum grid size. In the previous versions, the number of
allowed thickness survey points was limited to 10.
661PRO v2.0
Up to two (2) horizontal partition plates are now available in 661PRO. In many air cooled heat exchangers, there
are horizontal partition plates that split the headerbox. These provide extra stiffness on the tubesheet and the
headerbox overall. Partition plates can now be accurately modeled and analyzed.
STRESSPLOT v4.0
• Faster data extraction
• Unlimited number of SCLs can be defined (was previously limited to 7 scls in version 3.5)
• Can mix and match SCL lookup type (version 3.5 limited to one of three lookup methods).
PAULIN Research Group New Features List Page 5 of 10
STRESSPLOT v4.0 New Features continued...
• Can process scls from multiple models in one session (version 3.5 limited to a single model).
• New on demand scl plotting (version 3.5 plotting of scls was only available during a transient data
processing stage).
• Unified table presentation
• Unified plot presentation
• Rapid filtering
• Simultaneous processing of Stress Intensity and Equivalent Stress results (for FFS of pre 2007
equipment)
• New MS Word compatible /compiled html report generator.

PlasPLOT v1.1
PlasPLOT is a real-time monitor for plastic solutions. While a non-linear solution is running, view the convergence,
elastic and elastic-plastic strains. No upgrades for this release.
PLASTEX v1.1
PlasTEX v1.1 provides elastic-plastic, large displacement, large rotation, and large strain capability for 2D FE/Pipe
v6.6 and NozzlePRO v8.6 models. This capability is intended to address the requirements in the 2007 ASME
Section VIII Div.2 Part 5 new rules including the critical evaluation of Local Overstrain in accordance with 5.3.3.1.
No upgrades for this release.
FE107 v2.5
• Stress Evaluation Screen Added (see NozzlePRO v8.6)
• SIF and flexibility factor sheet added to see and compare B31 SIF’s and k’s with ASME 07-02 project (as
included with NozzlePRO).
• Load history fatigue analysis and super element processor added (as included with NozzlePRO)
PAULIN Research Group New Features List Page 7 of 10
FESIF v2.5
• Stress Evaluation Screen Added (see NozzlePRO v8.6)
• SIF and flexibility factor sheet added to see and compare B31 SIF’s and k’s with ASME 07-02 project (as
included with NozzlePRO).
FEBend v1.5
No upgrades for this release.
FETee v1.2
• Stress Evaluation Screen Added (see NozzlePRO v8.6)
• ASME B16.9 standard dimensions are available for run and branch
lengths.
• Link to MatPRO now available to import properties for any of the
sections (tee, branch pipe, and attached header pipes).
• Load history fatigue analysis and super element processor added
(as included with NozzlePRO)
• SIF and flexibility factor sheet added to see and compare B31 SIF’s
and k’s with ASME 07-02 project (as included with NozzlePRO).
PCL-Gold v5.0.1
• AIV Spreadsheet Improvement
• PRG-ik Spreadsheet Enhancement
• Finite Element models are generated for all tees. Calculated SIFs and flexibilities are then used in the
beam analysis. Forces and moments from the beam analysis are used with the FE model to compute
accurate stresses.

PCL-Gold v5.0.1 New Features continued...
• Updated CAESAR II Translator – Updated to Version 6.1
Convert CII files from older versions to newer versions and vice-versa
• PRGCAD – Interactive drawing during model entry.
• Global Mesh Default Multiplier Control – The user can enter the default unity mesh multiplier so that
meshes will have default slightly higher mesh densities. This number is recommended to be entered in
the 1.1 to 1.3 range. This is for users with faster machines, or problems that can utilize slightly denser
default mesh densities.
• Stress Evaluation Screen Added (see NozzlePRO v8.6)
• When the CAD window is opened, the view below appears. The user can double click on a pipe, and the
spreadsheet will jump to the pipe. The user sees the pipe show up in the plot whenever the user makes a
change to a length in the PCL form.
