Some folks have asked about the Unstuck process. We have been working with Mark Meyer, who is a church consultant from Unstuck. Mark has visited our church, met with the church staff and other leaders, and offered us insight into changes that need to be made. One of the accomplishments of Unstuck has been the development of a Vison Statement. This statement challenges us to continue to experience numerical and spiritual growth. It sets challenging ministry goals for the next few years.

VISION STATEMENT Our Souls: We will bring New Hope for over 1000 unique people connecting to our expanded, newly renovated church every month through weekly worship, small groups, and serving teams. Over 40 small groups will exist to help people connect to each other and do life in

community. Over 200 new people will unite with our church, with many professing faith in Jesus and being baptized for the first time and all taking steps in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. We will bring relevant, practical, and motivating content and truth to encourage each other to take continued steps toward Jesus. Our Families: We will see over 50 youth and 200 children connecting monthly through our family ministry. It will be clear that we love kids as we fully integrate our pre-school and CDO into the steps to help teach our kids the foundations of faith and be a trusted resource for parents. Over 60 kids will be attending camps to be an environment to experience God in new ways. Our Community: We will be the church 24/7 focused on those outside our four walls. We will invest in relationships with people not like us as we learn to love our community well. We will give over $100,000 to the front line needs in our local missions as we partner with other leaders and churches in our city. Over 100 people per month will be serving monthly inside and outside of the church as we put our hands and feet to the effort of bringing hope to our neighbors. Our World: We will send 30 people on domestic missions projects each year both to serve and be stretched in our faith. We will also engage with global missions each year, sending a group every other year. We will have a broad perspective of what God is doing in the world and we will play a part. Over $50,000 will be given to our missions efforts each year as we identify places in the world that need our help.

Currently, there are three different strategy teams that are hard at work on ministry ideas for New Hope. Emily Wilkinson is leading the Weekend Experience Team. This group is looking to improve worship, outreach, stewardship opportunities, security, and the greeting of guests. The Weekend Experience Team wants to insure that people who are seeking a new church home feel welcome at New Hope. Cali Eck is leading the Discipleship Team. This team is concerned about making disciples of new and current members of New Hope. We seek to carry out mission statement of The United Methodist Church and make disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World. This team will soon unveil a Discipleship Map for New Hope. Kevin Wilkinson is leading the Communications Team. This team seeks to communicate with this congregation and the surrounding community through all kinds of media opportunities. We will use our website, social media, online worship, church newsletter, the church bulletin, text messages, e-mails, and other ways to share information about mission and ministry opportunities at New Hope.

Sunday, November 17 at 2:30 p.m. Come learn about plans from GSB, our new architects, for future expansion as New Hope grows.

Second Saturday Sandwich Outreach by Tammy Darter

WOW!!! Once again New Hope has come through for Second Saturday!!! Thirty-four volunteers came and we served around 200 people. It was amazing all the items we had to take with us and even more amazing is how little we came back with. A big thank you to the Sunday school classes that donated money and items. Luisa had the children fix toiletry item bags. A big thank you to the Men of Hope for grilling burgers. They cooked 80 burgers, we ran out of buns. By the time we got back with buns we were out of burgers!! We ordered 130 cheeseburgers from the McDonald’s across the street and those were also passed out along with 100 PBJ’s.

What a blessing to be able to serve that many people in need. We had several new faces in our group and welcome anyone who is curious and wants to be blessed on a Saturday morning to join us. Contact Tammy Darter or Donette Johnson if interested. Our next date is November 9. Ongoing needs for cooler weather: gloves, hats, scarves, jackets, coats, blankets, heavy socks, hand warmers, etc.

Honoring Veterans and current Military Members by Norene Valentour

Hearts of Hope helps celebrate a Special Time for Special People !!! On November 10, 2019

Hearts of Hope and New Hope will be honoring New Hope Veterans, Military Family Members and Passed Veterans. “Time for Honoring Active Military and Veterans” and “Moments for Remembering Passed Veterans” will be tributes to those serving now and those having served the United States of America at home and abroad. All who dedicated their lives to protecting and preserving The United States of America freedoms, particularly “One Nation Under God”.

Sign-up sheets will be in the Gathering Area October 20, 27 and November 3. We will honor all veterans, including the congregation’s family members who served. It’s always nice to learn more about those who have served, especially those with a personal connection. Hearts of Hope will reserve a display area if you wish to share memorabilia of events, special medals, insignias and mementos and photos.

Helping Hands Food Pantry by Mickey Miller Well, everyone, the holidays are fast approaching, and there are still lots of hungry families out there. Our food pantry has been averaging giving out food for approximately 70 people each

month. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but that is over 800 people each year that we help feed. This is probably a low estimate for the year as the holidays are fast approaching.

We will be giving out food baskets to approxi-mately 50 families that have signed up. These baskets will include $25.00 gift card from Aldi’s to buy a turkey or other meat. The pantry will supply green beans, corn, macaroni & cheese, instant potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, red jello, turkey gravy mix, turkey stock, cranberry sauce, jiffy corn bread, canned pumpkin, graham cracker pie crust, cool whip, and cream cheese. I will also include a very tasty recipe for no bake pumpkin cheesecake. If you would like to donate any of the above, it would be truly appreciated.

We will be having our regular pantry days on November 12th and the 26th, but the food bas-kets will be given out on November 12th so that people can shop early for their bird. Thank you all so much for your wonderful support of New Hope’s food pantry. We are still taking any and all donations for the pantry. Please stop by and see what we have in our pantry for our clients. The pantry is open the second and fourth Tuesdays from 1:00 until 3:00.

UMW by Elaine Pierce New Hope UMW held its October meeting at the regularly schedule time of 6:30 on the third Thursday night of the month with 14 members in attendance to hear Louisa Medina talk about the New Hope Children's Ministry, which she, I might say, very ably directs. She detailed all the different aspects of her job in reaching and serving the children of New Hope in various classes, children's church time, Wednesday night programs, and many other endeavors. This includes using her personal time to further enhance her involvement with these children. New Hope is very fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented person to lead this very important ministry. We ladies were tired and out of breath just listening to all she does! We are proud to announce new officers who will be leading our group in 2020 -2021. Elaine Parrent and Carola Smith will serve as Co-Presidents. Earline Baker will be Secretary, Debbie McGlohon will continue as Treasurer for the 5th and 6th years, Lacricia Norman will serve as Membership, Carola Smith will serve as Sunshine. Ladies of New Hope: the BAZAAR is coming soon! November 2nd from 9-3. UMW will again host the potato bar with chili, and all the trimmings, salad, drink, and homemade cake for $6.00. You can't beat that price anywhere. Come eat with us. You can also shop our jewelry table where precious items are available for your donation. We are taking donations of items now if you have any jewelry you are tired of, or just never did like anyway. Bring it to the office by Friday morning, Nov.1, so that we will have time to get it ready for display for the sale. Remember that all proceeds both from the potato bar and the jewelry sales go to support our mission endeavors both locally and globally. Another event to be aware of the our annual Christmas Fellowship time with finger foods and entertainment open to all members of the church. This will be December 19th at 6:30. It's hard to believe that we are already talking about Christmas. I think the older one gets, the faster time seems to fly. We just have to enjoy all the days of our lives and make our days count for good and positive things. We want our Father God to be pleased with us, His children! See you all at the bazaar!

Come and shop! Saturday,

November 2nd 9:00 a.m. until 3:00p.m. Mary Martha Circle will also be selling Rada on Sunday,

November 3, (day after the bazaar)

before and between services. All Rada is made in the USA and is guaranteed. Proceeds will be used for

Mary Martha mission projects.

Mary Martha Circle by Donna Reynolds At the October meeting of the Mary Martha Ladies' Circle, a new slate of officers was presented and accepted by the group. They are: Chairperson: Mickey Miller Vice-Chairperson: Vita Crowe Secretary: Margaret Graham Treasurer: Frances Murrell Praises and Concerns: Wanda Urban Messenger: Donna Reynolds Newsletter: Donna Reynolds

New Business included: Providing lunch for the Prime Timers at McKee Center on Oct. 23; Bake Sale Booth and Rada Cutlery Booth at the Ruth Circle Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 2; providing Thanksgiving Platters of snacks for our members that are homebound or in retirement facilities. Mickey Miller reported that the Emmaus Group would have a Potluck at New Hope on Oct. 19 at 5:30 and the music group G3 would perform. What fun! All ladies are invited to visit the Mary Martha Ladies' Circle that meets every month on the second Thursday at 9:30 to 11:00.

Ann Hannah gave a wonderful devotion presentation on the Monarch Butterflies. Matt. 6: 26 - 28 Jesus said, "Consider the birds of the air...and the lilies of the field" but let's consider the orange winged wonders that are Monarch Butterflies. Every year these beautiful creatures journey thousands of miles from southern Canada and the US to a few mountainous sites in Mexico. There they rest over the winter for the long return journey in the spring. No one butterfly ever makes the entire journey. There may be 3 or 4 generations that participate in one journey. So it's not a journey by memory. Each one goes where it has never gone before. We also are on a grand faith journey that can span generations. We will not begin this journey and we will not complete it without those who have gone before and those who come after us. And just like the Monarch Butterflies, and like Abraham and Moses, God leads us where we have never gone before. Praise God and be thankful for his love and guidance.

Jerry Crawford and his family - Lance, Kristi, and children - would like to thank all New Hope friends for their support after Marty’s passing. The cards, calls, prayers and concern helped during a dark

time of life. He appreciates all of you and your continued love and care. Thank you!

Cali’s Corner You were created to be a blessing to others! We all were. November is always the season to count my blessings and evaluate if I am blessings others. It is a good thing to check yourself to recognize your blessings. God will do great work in and through us

if we let him. We are in the season that we can emphasize thankfulness. God has given us many tangible blessings, but do we take them for granted? I know I have been guilty of that. I challenge you to think of ways to be thankful. I also challenge you to think about ways that God can use you to bless someone else.

I want you to know that you have been a blessing to the Strengthening Families program. The way many in our congregation give of their time to prepare and serve a meal for this program is very much appreciated. You can and do make a difference. Think about how you can continue to make a difference and bless others. Our congregation serves and blesses others in many ways. We cannot do what we do without your continued support, both with your presence and your monetary gifts. Remember, there are many ways to give. We want to keep up with the tech-nology around us. You can give through the website, texting, and the Give+ app. We will also encourage regular giving by check or cash.

God uses your gifts to bless others. If you are looking for a way to get plugged in and use other gifts God has given you, we would love to share with you the many ways you can get involved in the ministries of New Hope. We are excited about what God is doing. Let’s count our blessings and find more ways to bless.

Over ninety people received flu shots at our Sunday morning clinic on October 6.

If you have not gotten one, they should be available at your doctor’s office or at local drugstores.

Flu season is close and there have already been cases reported. Take all the precautions you can since this isn’t something to share!

Emmaus by Mickey Miller Hello New Hope. Our Emmaus group hosted the monthly gathering on October 19th. We had about 45 people in attendance and were serenaded by G3. The food, the fellowship, and the music were great! Our next gathering will be at Highland Methodist Church in Stillwater on November 16th. Come join us for food, fun, and fellowship.

by Mickey Miller We are fast approaching the holidays, and we are planning on doing a Thanksgiving food basket for each resident.

This will include a $20.00 gift card at Aldi’s to buy a turkey or meat of choice. The pantry will supply green beans, corn, macaroni & cheese, cranberry sauce, instant potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, dry turkey gravy mix, turkey stock, red jello, jiffy corn bread, graham cracker pie crust, cream cheese, cool whip, and canned pumpkin. We will give them a recipe for no-bake pumpkin cheesecake which tastes great. We would really appreciate any donations for the Thanksgiving baskets or for Christmas. Exodus House has a Christmas party at Wesley Methodist Church which is very much appreciated by the residents. Wesley Methodist does it up big for the residents, giving of themselves financially, spiritually, and just being friends to the residents of Exodus House. I would like to be able to give each of the twenty residents a $20.00 gift card, and to give the twelve children a $10.00 gift card as a Christmas present from our congregation at New Hope. So, keep the residents of Exodus house in your hearts and your prayers, and please help us to reach this goal.

Our Men’s Group meets at 8:15 the third Sunday each month. All men and their sons are invited to join them on November 17.

Remember our new classes beginning this month. Sign-up sheets are out in the gathering area. “The Epic of Eden: a Study in Ruth by Sandy Richter In this 6-week study, we will challenge to see ourselves in the characters of the biblical story. October was a busy month in Preschool Ministry and CDO!

In Preschool Ministry the kids learned about Baby Moses and did crafts to go along with their lessons. During 2nd service and Sunday evenings the kids have been doing various fall crafts and lessons. Octo-ber 13th, JD baptized his grandson, Evan Ward!

In November, the kids will be learning about Ruth and Naomi. The Bible story comes from Ruth 1 - 4. The kids will be doing activities and learn about being thankful also. We will be collecting food for the food pantry as we get closer to Thanks-giving.

CDO had a very busy and fun October with a visit from firefighters during fire safety week and then we had a garbage truck visit during letter G/Gross week! CDO celebrated Halloween by wearing costumes and trick or treating around the church as many wonder-ful volunteers passed out candy! Thank you to everyone who was able to come help! The kids also had their fall parties on Halloween!

November will be busy learning songs for the Christmas Program coming up in December. CDO will also be collecting food for the food pantry. We will celebrate Thanks-giving together on Thursday, November 21st by having a “kid friendly” lunch. CDO will be closed the entire week of Thanksgiving.

The letters and themes for Novem-ber are: K - Kings and Queens, L - Leaves, and M - Mickey Mouse. Thank you, Amy Aita
