9.3 Open.9.3.1 Age division is determined by FAC Guide to Eligibility and is open to all junior players.9.3.2 A player who plays in any two USTA Hawaii Pacific Section (excluding ITF) sanctioned junior Open events within the same age

group and within a current 12 month period will appear on the junior ranking eligible ranking list. The monthly standings are anaccurate approximation of where a player would be if he/she were working towards a year end ranking. The final year endingranking will be published at the end of the calendar year.

10. Open Ranking Requirements10.1 Players 12-18 years old may be ranked in singles and doubles. Players may be ranked in the following divisions: 12 and under,

14 and under, 16 and under, 18 and under (in singles and doubles). Match play requirements for ranking must be completed inthe same ranking age group for singles. Similarly doubles ranking requires all doubles matches to be played in the doublesranking age group. As a clarification, match play in one age group cannot count toward ranking in a different age group. As aclarification, it is possible to be ranked in one age group for singles, and a different age group for doubles. All ranking

requirements must be done in the current calendar year.10.2 End of year singles ranking requirements: End of year ranking will be determined by the points summed from the 6 highest

points per round values from any six Hawaii Pacific Section tournaments played in 2009.10.3 End of year doubles ranking requirements: Ranking will be determined by the points summed from the 3 highest points per

round values from Hawaii Pacific Section tournaments.10.4 End of year mixed doubles ranking requirements: Ranking will be determined by the points summed from the 3 highest points

per round values from Hawaii Pacific Section tournaments.10.5 Alternative draw and match formats may be used.10.6 Intermediate, novice, and national tournament results do not count for Hawaii Pacific Section ranking.10.7 Points values are awarded based a players final position in the draw. Different tournament types have different point awards as

The HPS Junior Standings List is a rolling rankings that calculates the previous 12months of a players open tournament results.

9.3.3 The final year ending ranking will be published at the end of the calendar year.

10. Open Ranking Requirements10.1 Players may be ranked in the following divisions: 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, 18 and under.

10.2 Similar to the USTA National Junior Rankings, the HPS open rankings are based upon an accumulation of points for winningrounds at USTA HPS sanctioned events.

10.3 Rankings will be based upon the combined results for singles and doubles.10.4 Rankings will be based upon the highest six (6) points per round results for singles and 15% of the highest three (3) points per

round results for doubles.10.5 Points earned in higher age divisions will count down towards a players standing in one or more younger age divisions.10.6 Alternative draw and match formats may be used.

10.7 Challenger Division and National Tournament results do not count in the rankings.10.8 Points values are awarded based a players final position in the draw. A player earns points by winning a round. Differenttournament types have different point awards as noted in the following table:

10.9 Minimum tournament draw size is three (3) players. For 3 players, a round robin format shall be used.10.10 Draws with Feed In Championships (FIC).10.10.1 For draw sizes greater than or equal to five and less than eight (5 draw size < 8) FIC Semifinals shall be used.10.10.2 For draw sizes greater than or equal to eight (8 draw size) FIC Quarterfinals shall be used.

COMMENTS

Align the New PPR Table with the National Ranking Point Table (NRPT), Midwest, and Middle States Section Point Table The New PPR Table follows the NRPT and:

Adds a column for HPS Open tournaments (similar to the Midwest Section Point Table Level 6 events and Middle States Point Table Level 6and 7)

Does not include points for other National Level 1 and 2 events (many sections allows points for National Level events) Rankings are based upon best 6 singles events and 15% of the best 3 doubles events (National uses 15%; ITF uses 25% of doubles events)

Standardize the draw format for all USTA HPS tournaments: HPS tournaments draws are small; we need a standard format to assure players get a minimum of two matches for each tournament played Either two singles matches (guaranteed consolation) or singles + doubles match Minimum tournament draw size is set at 3 Eliminates the rarely used main draw with modified consolation format Assures that every player will have the opportunity to play a consolation round for FIC format (draw size of 5 with FIC Quarterfinals creates

the exception that a 1st round loser will not have a consolation match) Assures that the FIC Champion will not earn more points than the 4th place finisher (draw size of less than 8 with FIC Quarterfinals creates
