The unique IMRA certificate course created by the San Diego County Office of Education has been expanded based on overwhelming requests from IMRA course graduates and administrators. Instructional Media Resource Associate 2 Elevate your expertise with the certificate course for K-12 school library staff members. The new Instructional Media Resource Associate 2 (IMRA 2) is a 10-week online course with one face-to-face meeting day. The five modules will empower graduates to improve the quality of services in their library media center and better prepare students for college and career opportunities in the 21st century. IMRA 2 graduates will know how to: Create a personal learning network (PLN) and connect with library staff throughout California Adapt their library to meet the needs of 21st-century learners Understand the basic steps of research Utilize tools to determine the reliability of information Articulate their role in helping students learn digital citizenship and information literacy Maintain a collection of digital and print resources in a library setting that meets the needs of students and the school community Create an action plan to advance their program and become a collaborative model school library “Working with my teacher and students on their research projects was amazing! Showing the video I made and discussing how to find reliable websites was a great experience for me. I will use this every year with students.” -IMRA participant
