The unique IMRA certificate course created by the San Diego County Office of Education has been expanded based on overwhelming requests from IMRA course graduates and administrators.

Instructional Media Resource Associate 2

Elevate your expertise with the certificate course for K-12 school library staff members.

The new Instructional Media Resource Associate 2 (IMRA 2) is a 10-week online course with one face-to-face meeting day. The five modules will empower graduates to improve the quality of services in their library media center and better prepare students for college and career opportunities in the 21st century.

IMRA 2 graduates will know how to:

Create a personal learning network (PLN) and connect with library staff throughout CaliforniaAdapt their library to meet the needs of 21st-century learnersUnderstand the basic steps of researchUtilize tools to determine the reliability of informationArticulate their role in helping students learn digital citizenship and information literacyMaintain a collection of digital and print resources in a library setting that meets the needs of students and the school communityCreate an action plan to advance their program and become a collaborative model school library
