Lance and Trena are on vacation so this one is from Bro Jim hellip
Once upon a time a farmerrsquos mule fell into a dry well When the farmer heard the mulersquos braying and realized what had
happened he determined that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving
Instead he called his neighbors together and enlisted their help in burying the old mule in the well and putting him out of
his misery
Initially the old mule was very upset You would be too if you were in a deep hole and people started throwing dirt in on
top of you But as the dirt rained down on his back the old mule had a thought He decided that every time a shovel of
dirt landed on his back he would shake it off and step up And thatrsquos what he did
As the dirt cascaded down the well the old mule kept shaking it off and stepping up
Hours later the exhausted mule finally stepped over the wall of the well What was meant to bury him actually helped

Itrsquos not uncommon to feel like that mule But one thing we know for certain is that as followers of Jesus even the most
difficult things can be used to bless us Romans 828 reminds us ldquoAnd we know that God causes all things to work
together for good to those who love God to those who are called according to His purposerdquo Next time yoursquore feeling
buried remember the promise and step up

VBS was a magnificent success Thank you to Sarah Peck for
her leadership and to all of you who helped us make it great
Our kids raised $51695 for the Kentucky Sheriffrsquos Ranch
Speaking of the Sheriffrsquos Ranch we had a great time on Sun
June 26 feeding 84 boys 150 hot dogs Thanks to your
generosity and the generosity of Draffenrsquos Supply Calvert
City Lumber and Shop-O-Rama hellip we were able to provide
several items to the Ranch that will help them stretch their
limited funds and make a difference in the lives of a whole
bunch of kids this summer Donrsquot forget wersquore going back on
July 17 hellip therersquos still time to donate items or you can come
help us prepare the meal July 17 will be girlrsquos week
Thank you Church family for being a blessing
Since itrsquos summer hellip and wersquore supposed to have a little fun
Irsquom including one more Bible quiz in this edition of the
Challenge There are 10 questions about The Hand of God
that I think will challenge your Bible knowledge For the first
three people who call me or email me all the correct answers I

for a ldquoFantastic Cave Quest VBSrdquo It was an exciting time
with all the children and workers Our ldquoLightrdquo was shining
brightly Thank you Sarah for getting it all together and
working so hard (You too Jeff Peck) We appreciate all that
you do
We have had our first Sheriffrsquos Ranch Cook Out and it was
ldquoGreatrdquo The boys were hungry and they enjoyed the shaved
ice on such a hot day Thanks to everyone who donated
something and especially for being there to help serve It was
wonderful to see their smiling faces which thanked us for what
we did If you missed this one there is another one on July
17th
Come out and witness their smiles for yourselves
JUMP is going well We have several children who come but
would love to have more We are learning about ldquoBig
Mistakes Bad Days and Goodrdquo stories from the Bible Nicole
and Crystal are doing a wonderful job with the children We
will have a ldquoBack to Schoolrdquo celebration on the 27th
of his
month If anyone is interested in helping with JUMP please
let me know We will have Bible Blast to the Past in August
September and October There is also a need for help in the
other months ahead too
Venture River is coming up on July 10th
We will meet at
church at 1230pm We have reserved a shelter to provide
relief from the sun Come join us
Pizza and a Movie will be on July 24th
and the Ice Cream
social on July 31st Then it will be time to start back to school
Summer is passing very quickly and we still have lots to do
Come join us for fun food and fellowship before school starts
back Donrsquot miss out on the fun we can have together
