INTRODUCTION

Reference meterials are particullarly important for analytical chemistry and clinical analysis. Since most analytical instrumantation is comparative. It requires a sample of known composition for accurate calibration. The library should be fairely well equiped with reference meterials, conventional and non-conventional. Conventional reference books include dictionaries, encyclopedias, year books, atlases, maps, charetc. The non- conventional reference meterials concist of all other library books. That may be employed for reference service of any other kind.

DICTIONARIES

A book or electronic resource that list the words of a language and gives their meaning or gives the equivalent words in different language often also providing information about pronounciation argin and usage. A dictionary ios collection of words in one or more specific languages often listed alphabetically. In Biology or science subjects dictionaries are widely used to check the meanings of unfamilar words.

ENCYCLOPEDIAS

A book or set of books giving information on many subjects or on many aspects of one subjects and typically arranged alphabetically. An encyclopedia is a type of reference work a compendium holding a summary of information from either all. A book or set of books containing articles on various topics usually in alphbetically arrangnment covering all branches.

YEARBOOKS

An annual publication giving current information and listing events or aspects of the previous year especially in a particular field.A year book also known as an annual, is a type of a bookk published annually including to record, highlight and commemorates events that took place in a school.

MAGAZINES

Knowledge of various topics of sciience can be imparted through the medium of newspapers and magazines by relating these topics to daily life. Facts can be made clear to students by taking examples from articoles published in magazines. General knowledge can be given about different experiment and inventions which has been published. This way the students can be made active.

CHARTS

A chart is a combination of pictorial, graphi, numeric or verbal meterials designed to present a clear visual summery of an important proces or set of relationships. The word chart means that a number of interpretations. There are different types of chart. As suggested by the definition of charts, they may be made up of almost any combination of visual and verbal elements. In Biology study chart is a nec cessory and unavoidable learning aid to show different aspects in a whole.

HANDBOOKS

A book giving iinformation such as facts on a particular subjects or instruction such as facts on a particular subjects or instruction for operating a machine. Teachers handbook is an excellent reference material for teachers for effective science teaching. In our state it is prepared by the SCERT along with text book prepared by them.

MANUALS

Is a book of instructions, especially for operating for operating a machine or learning a subject; a hand book. Is a thing operated or done by hand rather than automatically or electronically in particular.

INTERNET

A computer network concisting of a world wide Network of computer networks that use the network protocols to facilitants data transmission and exchange. Computer dictionary definition for what internet means.Internet is widely used in science subjects taching. It is essential. For more collecting data and other new informations related to the topic. We can collect diagrammes, animations, groups etc are download from Internet for more purposes.

NEWSPAPER

A printed publications issued daily or weekly consisting of folded unstapted sheets and contaning news, feature, articles, advertisements and informations. News paper helps to identifying or collecting up to day information related to our subjects.

JOURNALS

A newspaper or magazine that deals with a particular subject or professional Activity. A daily record of news and events of personal nature; a diary. A journal is an academic magazine publshed on a regular schedule. It contain articles written by expert by expert in a particular areas.

LIBRARY BOOKS

The science library today is concerned to be the intellectual of the school. It is being rightly felt today that textbooks are no longer Educational Bibles to be used as the sole authority helping

cognitive developments. They need to the students to be supported, supplimented and reinforced by other source of information. If science library must be acdepted as an integral part of science education in its totally. It is necessary that pupils are taught the techniques of locating relevent refference and resource materials in the science library within the last time as possible.

CONCLUSION

Reference materials is illustrations often used in the beginning of a project before any design have been produced. Reference meterials sent by the client can be used to fill in gaps. Reference materials are used as quick concepts for the artist to work. Reference meterials are various source that provide related content from library guides. These are obeviously those items most likely to be useful in Libraries unlimited, 1992.
