Mooney® Slam Shut - Features of the 1” design

• Easy to maintain; only two bolts required to remove entire Slam Shut assembly

• Resistant to sticking due to freezing water or debris in pipeline

• Excellent performance and accuracy across a large pressure range with a simple spring change.

• External visual indicator to show when unit is tripped.

• Easy to reset; only three caps need to be removed for complete reset.

• No pressure differential requirements for full shutoff.

In this situation, the design of our competitor’s latching mechanism may not reseat itself and is now susceptible to false trip due to vibration.

Mooney® Slam Shut ResettingAfter an upset condition has occurred

• Close block valves upstream and downstream

• Then equalize the line pressure

•Reset the Slam Shut with common hand tools• Open block valves to restore flow.

• The Slam Shut is once again providing downstream pressure protection

* Reset lever is also accessible on the opposite

side of the Slam Shut.

Mooney® Slam Shut Resetting

Resetting the 1” is similar with the exception that the reset motion is linear vs. rotary.

A simple tool (such as a screwdriver) is inserted in the reset shaft and is then used as a handle to pull the shaft downward.

With the reset shaft held down, depress the reset pin contained beneath the reset cap.

After the upstream and downstream block valves are closed, remove the bleed cap and depress the bleed valve with a screwdriver to equalize the line pressure
