June –Heart of Ohio Charity Event
3rd annual HoO charity event was held at Lennox Plaza in Columbus, OH on June 16th at Cars and
Coffee. Weather was outstanding and over 200 cars filled the parking lot.
If you haven’t been to this event, its great fun and a great cause. The club puts out free donuts under the
tent and asks for donations to Make A Wish Charity. This year we collected $400 with the club throwing in
the balance for a total donation of $1000.
Setup and cleanup are easy. You get to catch up with club members and see a variety of cars at Cars and
Coffee. See you next year!

Replacing The Power Seat Switch on a Chevrolet Corvette C6
Required Tools
• Nylon pry tool • Phillips Screwdriver • Needle nose plyers • Hook tool to pull clip off seat lever cam, I used a
paint can opener Required Parts
Seat Switch: AC Delco 10325876 (for this 2006 C6 Corvette – costs about $180 at Chevy store )
Symptoms
Seat does not move, or only moves in some direc-tions, or intermittently only when you wiggle switch or harness under seat.
Diagnose
Is it getting power?
Check seat fuse under passenger toe board. Check power at connector under the seat. If it has lumbar control does that have power? It uses the same power source so if the lumbar works the problem is probably the seat switch.
Remove power seat switch by gently prying it away from the seat with a non-marring tool. I use a nylon pry bar. Pry from each side until the pressure clips release.
Remove the seat recline lever by gently pulling the top away from the seat. You will see a bright metal clip that is the same as the type found on a window crank. Using a small hook tool, pull up while wiggling until it comes free. I used a paint can opener / hook end. Re-move the recline lever. There is a Philips-head screw that is revealed once you remove the lever. Take it out.
The plastic side panel of the seat is now free. From the back of the seat pull it away. It is tucked behind a met-al rail on the top edge, so pull up slightly as you pull away. At the front edge of the seat there is a tab that retains the panel. Once the rear and top of the panel are free pull towards the front of the car to release the panel completely. Let it hang, no need to remove it completely .

Now you can remove the switch by gently pulling it away from the seat, there is enough slack in the wires to pull it far enough that you can press the release tab and remove the switch.
Replace the switch, reassembly is the opposite of re-moval. I tested the switch before I reassembled. Screw the switch in place. Put the cover back on
Replace the seat recline lever and clip, I used needle nose plyers to put the clip back on the seat lever cam.
You should be in business.
Once the plastic panel is off you will see a metal panel with three screws. Remove them and remove the panel, it is what retains the switch in the mounting hole.

It was great to see everyone at our charity event. My niece
went through leukemia and looks forward to coming down eve-
ry year. I was mentioning the event at work and one of my as-
sociates sister benefited from the Make A Wish foundation.
We are even talking about doing this event again in the fall.
Enjoy the summer! Please don’t text and drive and tell people
of the dangers that do!
Needed: Tech Articles! Working on your Corvette? Write a short article in Word for-
mat (make sure to take pictures!). Articles can be submitted to my email address at
