Singles Chartifacts: #1: The Chainsmokers Feat. Halsey ‘Closer’ – After debuting at #2 last week, The Chainsmokers’ fourth top 50 single has moved up one spot to give the American duo their first #1 on the ARIA Charts. #3: DJ Snake Feat. Justin Bieber ‘Let Me Love You’ (debut) – French producer DJ Snake picks up his highest debut/peak on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Let Me Love You’. Featuring vocals from Justin Bieber, the track comes from DJ Snake’s debut album Encore (new at #10 this week). The producer’s previous best was with ‘Middle’ (#5 Dec. ’15). #5: Twenty One Pilots ‘Heathens’ – Featuring on Suicide Squad: The Album, a jump of 14 spots for ‘Heathens’ has given Twenty One Pilots a second top ten single. It’s the track’s eighth week in the top 50. #17: Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors, Ty Dolla $ign, Logic ‘Sucker For Pain’ (debut) – In what has to be one of the most unique and diverse combination of artists, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa have teamed up with the likes of Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors, Ty Dolla $ign and Logic to deliver ‘Sucker For Pain’, a genre-bending anthem from this week’s #1 album, Suicide Squad: The Album. #39: Skrillex & Rick Ross ‘Purple Lamborghini’ (debut) – Also from Suicide Squad: The Album, ‘Purple Lamborghini’ brings together dubstep producer Skrillex and rapper Rick Ross.

Albums Chartifacts: #1: Soundtrack ‘Suicide Squad: The Album’ (debut) – The soundtrack to the new film based on characters from the DC Comics universe. Suicide Squad: The Album includes Eminem’s ‘Without Me’ (#1 May ’02), Grace’s ‘You Don’t Own Me’ (#1 May ’15) and Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Heathens’ (#5 Aug. ’16). Two tracks from the album, ‘Sucker For Pain’ by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons, X Ambassadors, Ty Dolla $ign, Logic and ‘Purple Lamborghini’ by Skrillex & Rick Ross, have debuted at #17 and #39 respectively, this week. #2: Bernard Fanning ‘Civil Dusk’ (debut) – The third solo album from former Powderfinger front man Bernard Fanning. Civil Dusk is the follow-up to Departures (#1 Jun. ’13). Fanning’s debut solo album, Tea And Sympathy, debuted at #1 in November 2005. #4: Montaigne ‘Glorious Heights’ (debut) – Montaigne makes her ARIA Albums Chart debut with Glorious Heights. The Sydney singer-songwriter’s debut album comes two years on from her debut EP Life Of Montaigne. In March this year, Montaigne peaked at #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart as a featured artist on the Hilltop Hoods track ‘1955’. #7: Skillet ‘Unleashed’ (debut) – With their tenth studio album, American Christian rock band Skillet pick up their first appearance in the ARIA top 50. The group released their self-titled debut in 1996. Unleashed is the follow-up to 2013’s Rise. #9: Elvis Presley ‘Way Down In The Jungle Room’ (debut) – A new two-disc bringing together Elvis Presley’s final recordings. The tracks were recorded primarily in February and October of 1976 at Graceland. Presley reached #1 in November 2015 with the album If I Can Dream, which featured The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
