Oil regeneration

CMM-R

CMM-6R with high vacuum degassing and climate controlled work station

GlobeCore regeneration units now offer two (2) revolutionary features:

(1) Energized transformer oil processing; and

(2) Automatic Sorbent Reactivation.

The GlobeCore Process is performed continuously on most energized transformers without the need to remove, replace, and dispose of contaminated Fuller’s Earth sorbent material. No hazardous waste and one man crew equals lower costs and efficient operations.

Main Features of the GlobeCore Process:• Fully Automated Process and Smart Phone and

Internet Monitoring;

• Simplicity of Operation and Servicing;

• Service Life Extension Program for electric power transformers;

• Eliminates the need to Dispose of Used Oil;

• The Most Environmentally Friendly Equipment in the Industry.

Oil regeneration

The CMM-R (Mobile Oil Regeneration Plants) units are designed to extend the useful service life of the transformer by full and complete restoration of the dielectric strength and chemical composition of the transformer’s insulating oil. All CMM-R units feature the automatic sorbent reactivation system.

GlobeCore Regeneration units use the GlobeCore Process to remove acids, moisture and other contaminants from the oil, improve oil color, increase oil stability against oxidation and lower gas solubility. The GlobeCore Process also removes acids, water and contaminants from the insulating paper and windings.

Processing capacity of the GlobeCore CMM-R units is defined by two parameters: (1) liters per hour (L.P.H.) and the amount of oil in liters passed through the Fuller’s earth: while degassing and heating the oil, processing capacity is expressed in L. P. H.

When regenerating the oil, processing capacity is expressed as the amount of oil treated per cycle. The amount of oil treated will depend on the amount of Fuller’s earth in the unit and the acid level of the oil being treated. E.g. one kilogram (1 kg/2.2 lbs.) of Fuller’s earth can treat approximately 4 liters (1.056 gals) of oil with an acid number of 0.2 mg KOH/g. The amount of oil treated per 1 kg/2.2 lbs.of Fuller’s earth increases proportionally to a decrease in the acid number of the oil. GlobeCore Process units can also be fitted with an optional DBPC-2.6 inhibitor injector unit.

The following table shows the typical GlobeCore Process results. GlobeCore can custom manufacture models in any configuration and is willing to explore new design solutions to meet your specific needs.

One pass of the oil through the CMM-R yields the following parameters:

Oil regeneration

GlobeCore manufactures oil regeneration systems for transformer manufacturers, transmission companies and for service companies.

GlobeCore units are loaded with a sorbent that captures all oil decomposition products.

GlobeCore CMM-R regeneration systems use the same sorbent for up to 3 years before the first replacement. No more need to carry large amounts of sorbent to remote processing jobs. Costly labor related to replacement of exhausted sorbent is eliminated.

GlobeCore regeneration systems are produced with or without degassing units depending on the customer’s needs.

GlobeCore’s “stand alone” regeneration systems can be used in combination with your existing degassing or drying units.

Each GlobeCore unit can be custom made and includes a number of options:

• an extra vacuum pump assembly for transformer vacuuming;

• mounted on a trailer or a semi-trailer;

• inlet and/or outlet moisture meter for the oil stream;

• inhibitor injection system;

• remote control and process monitoring via smart phones and internet;

• operator work room/lab;

• climate controlled operator work room/lab.

The CMM-R (UVR) transformer oil regeneration plant

Oil regeneration

UVR

UVR-450/6

The UVR is a versatile unit, designed to purify, lighten, regenerate and and completely remove aromatics from absolutely any petrochemical product. The unit can be operated by any facility, does not require special placement, is easily transportable and works noiselessly.

These plants come in three design options:• general industry frame;• general industry container;• fire and explosion proof (rolling doors container).

GlobeCore UVR units are designed for the regeneration and purification of fuels and used mineral oils. The UVR Process is a unique and Proprietary GlobeCore technology without equal anywhere in the world. The process is so unique and so advanced that it can regenerate practically any fuel and used mineral oil.

GlobeCore UVR Process units can be adjusted or readjusted to process virtually any type of fuel or used oil. There is no need to switch to a different machine because you are processing a different kind of oil or fuel. The same UVR unit is capable of processing many different kinds of fuels and used oils. UVR units can purify and clear up dark diesel fuel and heavy fuel oil. The UVR units remove sulfur, hydrogen sulfide compounds, tar and other contaminants. Oil and fuel products remain clear and stable after the regeneration process. GlobeCore UVR units have successfully processed dielectric transformer oil, turbine oil, industrial oil, heavy fuel oil, and Diesel fuel in hundreds of facilities around the world.

GlobeCore UVR units operate using a special sorbent material while combining low cost with high performance in restoring oils and fuels to original new like condition. In many cases, the regenerated

product is superior to the original product when new.

Oil regeneration

Design – explosion proof, containerized.

The UVR plant purifies and lightens dark diesel and heavy fuel oil, removes sulfur and hydrogen sulfide compounds, easily lightens gas condensate, removing resins and contaminants. Processed fuels comply with standards and high purity requrements. The unit removes unpleasant odors, e.g. hydrogen sulfide etc.

Processed oil products remain stable and do not darken after regeneration, lightening and purification. The UVR units do not utilize the automatic sorbent reactivation system found in the CMM-R units. The UVR Regeneration Units utilize “Bleaching Clay” instead of Fuller’s Earth.

The vacuum cold trap is designed for pulling vacuum and drying of solid insulation of power transformers with voltages 110-1150 kV during installation, service and repairs.

The vacuum cold trap can be used with transformers capable of withstanding 26 Pa pressure.

Application of the unit for transformers which cannot withstand 26 Pa pressure is possible after reinforcement of the tank authorized by the transformer manufacturer.

While drying solid insulation of power transformers with voltages from 500 to 1150 kV, the vacuumizing process from atmospheric pressure to 400 Pa may be accelerated by connecting a vacuum blower section to the unit.
