Join us as we visit and immerse ourselves in one of the country’s most unique cities. We will experience a plethora of cultures and witness the economic and structural reconstruction of the city.

Note: Flight is not included. Students are expected to provide their own flight arrangements. Students are expected to arrive on Saturday, March 29, 2014 and depart after 4:00pm on Sunday, April 06, 2013.

Learn the culture, history and traditions of New Orleans. Understand the cultural significance of this great city. Experience the rebuilding process of what Katrina left behind eight years ago.

ITINERARYDay One- Saturday, March 29, 2014: Arrive at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

Day Two- Sunday, March 30, 2014: French Quarter Tour and entertaining lunch at the New Orleans School of Cooking.

Day Three- Monday, March 31, 2014: New Orleans City Tour.

Day Four- Tuesday, April 01, 2014: Cajun Swamp Adventure with lunch at Frenier Landing over-looking Lake Pontchartrain. Also, travel to Plantation Country for tour of Oak Alley, an opulent plantation.

Day Five- Wednesday, April, 02, 2014: Outing/Work Project with Tulane University.

Day Six- Thursday, April 03, 2014: Day on your own to explore New Orleans!

Head north into Cajun Country for a fun filled 3-days and memorable 19th century intercultural experience.

Day Seven- Friday, April 04, 2014: Potluck at a local private farm where you can meet locals. Lunch is followed by a Crawfish Harvesting Tour and then you are off to Lafayette for a dinner at Crawfish Town USA.

Day Eight- Saturday, April 05, 2014: Tour of 19th Century Cajon bayou community and Native American museum. Also, enjoy some Cajun Dance lessons and Cajun cooking class taught by locals. That night you will visit Pont Breux’s Cajun Restaurant for food and entertainment.

Day Nine- Sunday April 06, 2014: Lafayette City Tour and after you have lunch on your own, you will arrive at Louis Armstrong International Airport for your departure.

We will be arriving at the airport around 3:00pm. Please schedule flights around that time.
