Longer term export options

Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility

• Aimed at easing congestion across existing PPA Public Berths

• Facility will significantly increase the port’s livestock export capacity and improve operating efficiencies

• Has potential for large laydown areas behind the wharf (between facility and Great Northern Highway) – holding yards and quarantine facilities can be constructed

• Design of the cargo wharf can allow for double and triple road trains to load directly onto livestock vessels

• Facility can provide a modern, efficient livestock export facility that will reduce transport costs, improve animal welfare and quality, reduce driver fatigue and improve road safety
