KSB AG has launched a zero-leakage mag-drive refinery pump series in back-pull out design. The horizontal, radially split volute casing API 685 RPHmdp pump has been developed to reduce maintenance costs and ensure a maximum service life. KSB engineers in South Africa designed the pump, combining the company’s durable RPH hydraulic system with a state-of-the-art magnetic drive. The pumps are primarily used for handling harmful fluids such as hydrocarbons containing benzene, but they are also well-suited for the transport of clean, explosive, toxic and valuable fluids in petrochemical plants and refineries. Final pump set assembly can be undertaken in Brazil, India, Argentina, South Africa and Germany, ensuring that the pumps are quickly available worldwide and easily matched to local requirements.

www.ksb.comAtlas Copco has added the WEDA 04S to its line-up of small rental and construction pumps. The WEDA 04S is a 0.4 kW on-site sludge/trash pump with a maximum flow of 270 lpm and a maximum head of 10.5m. It complements the WEDA line of under 1 kW single-phase drainage, sludge and residual pumps released last year. The WEDA 04S has a cast iron vortex impeller that is able to pump dirty water and handle solids up to 25mm in size. The low-weight pump is robust and easy to maintain due to its triple seal system. “Our product range already included the WEDA 04, a 0.4 kW drainage pump, but

we received requests for a small pump that could also handle solids. Our answer is the WEDA 04S,” said Abet Cantuba, Atlas Copco Portable Energy’s pumps product marketing manager. “In the future, we plan to expand our sludge/trash pump range to include larger kW power nodes which will be able to pump higher flows and handle larger sizes of solids. This will be important for applications in mines and municipal sewers.” The CE-compliant 50Hz WEDA 04S is available now from the Atlas Copco Portable OEM Solutions factory in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany. The CSA-UL approved 60Hz version will be launched in early 2014.

www.atlascopco.comCornell Pump Co has started manufacturing a line of 3”, 4” and 6” self-priming pumps designed to efficiently and effectively tackle dirty water while pumping solids up to 3” in diameter. The new STX Series of self-priming pumps has efficiencies up to 62%. The pumps come with a standard five year warranty which Cornell says attests to the STX Series’ durability and design standards. Cornell’s STX Series can pump up to 1600 gallons per minute, is made of ductile iron, features a semi-enclosed impeller, an oversized oil reservoir that enables it to operate at higher RPMs, heavy duty bearings and frame and stress proof shafts, and comes standard with Cornell’s patented Cycloseal mechanical seal technology.
