JAWAN MARAKAZ (Special Initiatives)

CONCEPTUAL FRAME WORK:

• Youth Centers /Jawan Marakaz will be established in 25 districts for community driven initiatives.

• These Marakaz will be established in the existing government premises like sports complexes, local government institutions etc.

• A sum of Rs. 70 million has been allocated for this purpose in the CFY (Rs. 2.8 million per district).

Purpose:

• Career counseling of the youth and students.

• Holding cultural and recreational activities for the youth.

• Promoting ethnic harmony and social cohesion.

• Mobilizing youth for voluntary social welfare programs & disaster management.

Likely Activities:

• Seminars / Workshops

• Cultural events

• Establishment of teaching and tuition facilities

• Youth exchange programs

• Training and career counseling

• Youth dialogues with political and community leaders

• Involving in R&D on youth affairs

IMPLEMENTATION

• The local indigenous organizations, key activists, youth of the locality shall be taken on board as the members of larger Jawan centers advisory board.

• The advisory boards shall workout their own plans of action.
