I. What is the ESDP?

Who said this?

If we ignore the wide range of formal and non-formal learning opportunities that exist in a country—most provided and financed by government but others provided and financed by non-state entities such as private individuals and enterprises, community and faith-based organizations—then we ignore classrooms where significant numbers of children and young people are enrolled.

IV. Expectations: Participants will be able to

1. Understand the role that the private sector can play in furthering: (i) access to education services, (ii) the quality of education services provided, and (iii) equity within the education system.

2. Understand how the private sector has been engaged in different country contexts and how different types of engagement are relevant in different country contexts.

3. Apply the policy framework to inform policy dialogue with client/partner countries and to program design as appropriate.
