Dress Code

• Students are expected to dress and groom themselves in such a way as to reflect neatness, cleanliness, and good taste.

• Dress should reflect the occupation in which you are enrolled.

Student ID Cards

• Must be worn any time a student is on campus (above the waist)

• $3.00 replacement charge

• IDs are made across from the auditorium – check the schedule.

Student Parking

• First parking decal is free – additional decals are $5 each

• You can obtain a decal from the Business Office

• Permits are to be displayed in the rear driver-side lower window

• Do not park where the curbs are painted yellow

Tobacco-free Institution

Smoking and smokeless tobacco use are strictly prohibited within the buildings at Ogeechee Technical College. The College provides receptacles in designated outside areas for students that smoke or use smokeless tobacco, and these areas are expected to be kept clean and presentable.

Campus Safety

• OTC has a day and evening security officer on duty throughout the week

• In the event of an emergency, contact the security officer or receptionist

• The campus crime report is posted on bulletin boards throughout the College

• Emergency Operations and Safety instructions are located in your student handbook

Weapons Policy

• OTC is committed to (1) providing a safe educational environment; (2) prohibiting the carrying of weapons within school safety zones as prohibited by law; (3) creating an awareness of this policy and related policies; (4) establishing definitions; and (5) establishing procedures for disposition of violations.

Code of Conduct

• OTC must provide opportunities for intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth. Technical College students assume an obligation to act in a manner compatible with the fulfillment of the mission. The Technical College community recognizes its responsibility to provide an atmosphere conducive to growth. With these principles in mind, OTC establishes this Student Code of Conduct.

Counseling Services

• Career Counseling is offered for those who are undecided about their career or are considering a career change.

• Academic Counseling is available for those who need assistance, general information about programs including admission requirements and academic planning.

• Personal Counseling is available for those who are faced with managing, coping, and dealing with personal problems.

Counseling

• Brian Russell is available to provide short term counseling designed to deal with personal, family, social, and educational concerns. These services will help students handle day-to-day challenges and encourage their personal growth and development. The goal is to help students succeed in college and in life. Referrals to an outside agency will be made as deemed necessary by the counselor. All services will be kept confidential.

Georgia Fatherhood Program

• Designed to place non-custodial parents in jobs and job training leading to permanent employment– To qualify:

• Be a non-custodial parent; and• Have an active case with CSE agency; and• Be referred to OTC by your CSE agent.
