MISSION STATEMENT
Joyfully recognizing God’s commitment
and faithfulness to us, FAITH LUTHERAN
CHURCH exists to serve God through serv-
ing God’s people. We eagerly work towards
the realization of God’s Kingdom by:
Offering praise-filled worship to God.
Nurturing individual spiritual growth.
Fostering an environment of caring and
acceptance.
Reaching out to serve the needs of our
community.
God’s love stirs us to touch others with
the same love we have received—and invites
them to share our life of praise and service.
Faith Lutheran Church (ELCA) Columbus, Wisconsin
AS MEMBERS OF FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH WE
PROMISE:
To attend services regularly. To support the congregation financially. To live responsibly as a Christian witness. To become as involved as possible in the total life and work
of the congregation.
And this we promise to do by the help of God.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the
conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1

Interested in becoming
a part of Faith’s music
ministry?
FAITH CHOIR: We lift our
voices to the Lord and so can
you! The desire to sing is the only requirement.
All adults and confirmation age youth (and older)
are welcome. We will resume rehearsals on Sep-
tember 4 and rehearse every Wednesday even-
ing from 7:40-8:50 p.m. in the sanctuary. We sing
two—three Sundays a month at the 8:00 Heritage
Service. Please consider joining us.
FAITHFUL RINGERS: What are those
delightful sounds coming from the fellowship hall
every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. It’s the bell
choir, rehearsing their songs. After an hour
practice, a few clinks, clunks, and a good measure
of fun, we’re ready to ring every third Sunday of
the month. If you are interested in learning more,
we invite you to come September 4 and
explore becoming a ringer or substitute. (You do
not have to read music!)
Questions may be directed to Lisa Weisensel at
920–382-1188.

ARE YOU 70 YEARS OLD OR OLDER?
If you have reached the magical age of being required to take a withdrawal from your IRA, you may
want to consider a potential tax savings when you make donations to qualified non-profit organizations
like Faith Lutheran Church. The new tax law raised the standard deduction to the point that itemizing
deductions like donations may not provide a tax reduction. By directing your investment manager to
use your required distribution from your IRA to make your donations, you can avoid the tax on that
portion of your distribution. I am not your investment advisor. Please consult this person about this
new law and have them help you with the process and the decision to use the new financial tool.
