• Coordinator for The Highway and designer of the Highway Multimedia Room.

The Role of the TRT• Assist teachers in
the planning of technology integration
• Provide technology staff training and development
• Technical support for instructional computers
• Help teachers meet the VA Standards for Technology
• Project Manager for various programs
• Provide instructional technology support for all staff members

LCPS Acceptable Use Policy • All Staff members
must sign the AUP
• This AUP is kept on file with the personnel office
• Violation of the AUP can result in dismissal from the LCPS system
• Students are required to sign the LCPS
• Acceptable Use Policy annually
• Violation of the student AUP can result in loss of computer privileges

The SBHS Computer Network
• Generally, 2 computers and a printer in every classroom
• Two computers in each workroom with printer• Students and staff must log on to the network in
order to access the Internet and printing options
•G: Global Drive – can be seen and used by both students and staff members[Collaborative folder – open to share files]•H: Home Drive – individual drive space•I: Staff Drive – can be seen only by staff members•Z: Student Drive – stores all student files•J: GradeQuick Drive – stores all grades•Y: Old Global Drive – read only

How to Obtain Technology Supplies
• Paper – available in the Xerox rooms
• Printer ink – take the empty cartridge to lab 400 or lab 601
• Blank CD’s – see your department chair
• Batteries for remote controls – see the TRT
Software Available in All Classrooms
• Microsoft Office 2007: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access
• Power DVD• Internet Explorer 7• Mediator Pro Presentation and Open Mind
Software• Photoshop Elements Photo Editor on AV
machines• Curriculum specific software as requested by
the department chairs• No software can be added that is not on the
LCPS High School Matrix
Software Available to Only Staff Members
• GroupWise Client Software: On every machine in the building and the labs – You may access your email from home using the web version
• GradeQuick Software: Can only be accessed with a teacher login to the network
• Curriculum test generators
Submitting a Trouble Call• You must be registered in the
system in order to submit a computer/printer trouble call
• All problems are reported electronically by going to desktop and linking to Trouble Call
• Please be specific as to the machine number (located on the front of the computer) and the problem.
• Generally, it will be fixed in 24 hours
E-mail Communication• All LCPS staff are provided with an e-
mail address through GroupWise• There are LCPS guidelines for e-mail use
in communication• Staff members are expected to check e-
mail accounts daily• All staff members will have their email
listed on the PVHS web page• All staff members are encouraged to
give out their professional e-mail addresses to parents and the community
Virginia Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel
• Required by the state of VA as of June 30, 2004• Consists of a Technology Portfolio with evidence
of the completion of technology requirements• Minimum standards of technology skills• Graduates of a VA college/university since 2002
may automatically meet this requirement• See me if you are not sure if you have met this
requirement
Content Management System
• The web page system for the entire county
• Expectation is that all instructional personnel will have a web presence
• This includes a professional biography and a 9 week lesson plan.
• Training will take place in September.• Alpha Dog Program – A Stone Bridge
program where members commit to posting homework and assignments daily.
