Network Updates

• Current bandwidth is set to 3 Meg per school with a shared 1 Gig for county

• Starting July 1st we will upgrade to 15 Meg per school plus the 1 Gig bandwidth

• New servers at each school with caching abilities

New Teacher Technology• Each Classroom, Title 1, Specials, and

DEL teacher will receive:

• MacBook Pro and iPad

• Each support staff member will be reassigned like-new technology (if what you currently have is older than 3 years)

• K-3 Classrooms:

• 10 ipads with keyboard cases

• Apple TV

• 4-5 Classrooms:

• Each student will receive an ipad with keyboard case

How will you be trained?July – Receive equipment and hold voluntary training sessions (Liberty Express) for teachers who want their equipment before school starts – Macbook and iPad training

August – Hold “Meet your Mac” training sessions throughout this month. Teachers will receive their new Macbook and iPad. (After School sessions)

September – Training Sessions for iPad Cart/Management using Ipads

October and November – Technology Integration for all teachers

• Yes, we will have Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook...)

• Yes, all our smart notebook and CPS files will still work

• Yes, you will only have 1 teacher computer

• Yes, you will still have a smart board and an elmo

• Yes, we will have access to all our shared drives, including z drives

• Yes, our current software (including Pixie and Reading Eggs will work on iPads)
