THE JUDGING PANEL

I am delighted to be the Chair of the Trustee Board for Elevation Networks and judging panel for New View 50.

This New View 50 list has inspiring leaders and people with key positions across the public service. There are many roles occupied by people from diverse backgrounds that are varied and interesting.

A recent survey by Business in the Community on Race at Work in partnership with YouGov highlights a huge challenge for people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to find role models in the workplace. That is why this New View 50 initiative that has been spearheaded by Elevation Networks is so exciting.

Additional research also tells us that it does not matter if you are in school, college, university, in work, or currently unemployed; it is never too late to be inspired. Seeing role models who have ‘already done it’ inspires others to believe ‘I can do it too!’

I want this New View 50 list to inspire action. So what should you do with it? I have five suggestions:

1. Use the internet to find out more about the individual’s role and more about the organisation they work with.2. Pick out what you consider to be the significant or important events in the person’s career journey, and think about how they might have approached any challenges and what they may have learnt from them.3. See if there are any roles or achievements that interest you, or inspire you or you would just like to know more about.4. Why not think about opportunities to invite the person to speak at an event?5. Why not ask them to do a blog or podcast answering some key questions about their progression journey?

New View 50 is inspirational, timely and necessary. I do hope that you are motivated and encouraged as you review it and decide to take at least one of the five actions that I have suggested.

Richard Fuller MP: Member of Parliament for Bedford: Before being elected to Parliament in 2010, Richard was a partner in the strategy consulting firm, LEK Consulting, and a founding partner of the venture capital group at Investcorp. He has helped start a number of small businesses.

Patrick Brown: Head of Diversity Civil Service Fast Stream: Role involves targeting universities specifically with groups in it that are disproportionately under-represented. Creates strategic partnerships with the career services and sets up bespoke recruitment events. He has helped increase the Fast Stream intake from BME backgrounds significantly.

Ama Afrifa-Kyei: Diversity Specialist: Specialist experience in workplace diversity and inclusion, culture, gender equality, race/ethnicity, disability, diversity recruitment & training. Lawyer by training. Previous employers include Deloitte and DLA Piper UK.

Kate Osamor MP: Shadow Minister for Equalities and MP for Edmonton: Kate has over 15 years’ experience of NHS work, some of it as manager of a GP practice. Active in North London community affairs for many years, as was her mother.

Elevation Networks is a leading youth employment charity that seeks to develop the leadership potential of young people and increase their employability. EN works with young people aged 11-25 focusing on groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the labour market (ethnic minorities, women, young people from low socio-economic backgrounds, students from non-Russell group universities and young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)). EN supports organisations in both the private and public sector to develop diversity outreach and recruitment strategies.

THE NEED At Elevation Networks, we believe overlooking BAME talent restricts Britain’s potential. Instilling diversity in the workforce brings a greater range of perspectives, experiences and ideas. We know that diversity is a particular issue in the public sector and that stakeholders must work to address this imbalance in the long-term. Public bodies are becoming more diverse; however there is still a great deal of progress to be made. Whilst some organisations do reflect the diversity of the UK population, there is a significant disparity within senior civil service grades. This is why we are now extending our services.

RT HON SAJID JAVIDSecretary of State, Department for Business Innovation & Skills

Sajid is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the MP for Bromsgrove since 2010. He is also Secretary of the Board of Trade.

Javid previously served as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport from 2014 to 2015, Minister for Equalities in 2014, Financial Secretary to the Treasury from 2013 to 2014 and Economic Secretary from 2012 to 2013.

Born in Rochdale to Pakistani immigrant parents, he read Law at Exeter University and had a successful career as a banker with Chase Manhattan and Deutsche

When a Minister at DCMS, he had an Equality brief and is now in charge of a new Government task force aimed at improving the life chances of people from the UK BAME population.

SHARON WHITEChief Executive, Ofcom

A highly respected economist, Sharon White is the first woman – and the first black person – to lead the media regulator, and the first black woman to have such a senior role in any UK media organisation.

In her previous role as second permanent secretary at the Treasury, White was responsible for overseeing the UK’s spending cuts.

Born in east London to Jamaican parents, she attended a comprehensive school and studied economics at Cambridge, later taking an MSc in Economics at University College London. She joined the Treasury in 1989, rising to the position of Director General for Public Spending and working in the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit and in Washington DC as a senior economist at the World Bank before joining Ofcom.

DIANE ABBOTT MPShadow Secretary of State for International Development

In 1987 Diane Abbott made history by becoming the first black woman ever elected to the British Parliament. She has since built a distinguished career as a parliamentarian, broadcaster and commentator.

Of Jamaican descent, she attended Harrow County Grammar School for Girls before reading history at Newnham College, Cambridge. After university she became an administration trainee at the Home Office, gradually increasing her involvement in local politics before becoming an MP.

She has served on a number of parliamentary committees on social and international issues, including the Treasury Select Committee and the Foreign Affairs Select Committee. She chairs the All-Party Parliamentary British-Caribbean Group and the All-Party Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Group.

NEMAT SHAFIKDeputy Governor of the Bank of England

Nemat Shafik became Deputy Governor of the Bank of England in August 2014. She is responsible for reshaping the Bank’s operations and balance sheet, including ensuring robust risk management practices and helping to lead the design and execution of an eventual exit from quantitative easing by the MPC.

Attaining economic degrees from Massachusetts-Amherst and Oxford universities, she has held senior positions at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, where she became the youngest ever Vice President at the age of 36. She has also served as Permanent Secretary of the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID).

MARGARET CASELY-HAYFORDNon-Executive Director - NHS England

Margaret Casely-Hayford was appointed Chair of the charity Action Aid UK in 2014 prior to which she was for nine years. Director of Legal Services and Company Secretary for the John Lewis Partnership, following a twenty year career with City solicitors Dentons where she had been a partner.

Born in London to parents of West African heritage, she hails from a family of high-achievers: her grandfather Joseph Casely-Hayford was a renowned barrister and politician and her uncle Archie was the Attorney-General in Kwame Nkrumah’s government in Ghana in the 1950s. She has worked in the public, private and third sectors including the Greater London Council and the Association of District Councils, and joined the Board of NHS England in 2012.

ALTHEA EFUNSHILEDeputy Chief Executive of the Arts Council

Appointed in 2012, after joining the Arts Council in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. Althea has responsibility for operational delivery and corporate planning across the organisation, as well as for developing and implementing the national Arts Council Investment Strategy.

After various posts in teaching, youth work, and educational administration, Efunshile was Executive Director, Education and Culture, of the London Borough of Lewisham from 1996 to 2001. She then worked at the Department for Education and Skills from 2001 to 2006, as head of the Children’s and Young People’s Unit and then directing its Vulnerable Children Group. In 2007 she joined Arts Council England as Executive Director, Arts Planning and Investment, becoming Chief Operating Officer 2009-2013 and then Deputy Chief Executive from 2013. She is due to step down in October 2016.

CLAIRE DOVE OBEBoard Member, Charity Commission

Claire is a leading social entrepreneur who has been involved in the development of the social enterprise sector for over 25 years. She was awarded the Queen’s Lifetime Achievement Medal for Promoting Enterprise, and is a business ambassador for the North-West.

Claire Dove joined the Charity Commission as Board member in July 2013. She is Chief Executive of the Blackburne House Group, one of the country’s first social enterprises, and Chair of Social Enterprise UK.

Over the past 30 years, Blackburne House has been providing adult and community education and working to reduce the barriers faced by women as well as foster diversity.

She holds the positions of Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside, Fellow and governor of John Moores University and Vice Chair of Liverpool Community College.

KEVIN FENTONDirector of Health and Wellbeing, Public Health England (PHE)

Kevin Fenton oversees PHE’s national prevention programmes including screening for cancer and other conditions, health checks, public mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and a range of wellbeing programmes for infants, youth, adults and older adults. The Health and Wellbeing Directorate also leads PHE’s Health Equity portfolio with a range of programmes and activities focused on addressing the social determinants of health and promoting place-based approaches to health improvement.

Professor Fenton was previously the director of the National Centre for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Previously he was the director of the HIV and STI Department at the UK Health Protection Agency.

BARONESS RUBY MCGREGOR-SMITHNon-Executive Director - Department for Education

Baroness McGregor-Smith is also Chair of the Women’s Business Council. She received a CBE for Services to business and diversity in business in 2012 and was created a Life Peer in 2015.

As the Chief Executive of Mitie Group, a strategic outsourcing company, she is the first Asian woman to be appointed in such a role in the FTSE 250 or FTSE 100.

She was previously a non-executive board member of the Department for Culture Media and Sport and also served at the Department for Education. She was also a non-executive director of the Women’s Business Council and has been Chair from 2012 to the present of UK Trade & Investment. Additionally, she is a Business Ambassador for the United Kingdom and an Ambassador of the charity Mosaic.

SONITA ALLEYNE OBETrustee, BBC

Sonita was a non-executive board member at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport when London’s successful bid for the 2012 Olympics was being put together. She continues to hold various public and private sector roles, including at the London Legacy Development Corporation, which oversees the development of the Olympic Park area. She is also a board member at Archant, a regional newspaper group.

She is the founder of The Yes Programme, an online service that helps school pupils make good career choices. Sonita currently holds a number of non-executive board roles including the London Legacy Development Corporation, British Board of Film Classification, Cultural Capital Fund. She is also a member of the BBC Trust. She was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting in November 2003.

Previous board roles include the National Employment Panel and the London Skills and Employment Board. Sonita Alleyne also founded the production company Somethin’ Else and led it as Chief Executive from 1991 until 2009.

Brought up in east London. Sonita won the Carlton Multicultural Achievement Award for TV and Radio in 2002 and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of the Arts and the Radio Academy. Sonita is an Ambassador for Street Kids International and was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting in November 2003.

DR EBRAHIM ADIAExecutive Dean for Student Experience at the University of Bolton

Ebrahim is the Executive Dean for Student Experience at the University of Bolton, and has responsibilities as an Executive Member for Regeneration and Resources at Bolton Council. Previously, Ebrahim was joint vice-chair at Bolton NHS, and served as a Commissioner on the Government’s Task Group on Integration and Cohesion.

She is responsible for ensuring that the legal interests of the bank and its stakeholders are protected and ensuring that the governance aspects of the institution function smoothly.

JENNETTE ARNOLD OBE London assembly member for North East London

Jennette Arnold OBE has been a member of the London Assembly since 2000. Initially a London-wide member, since 2004 Jennette has represented the North East London constituency of Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. Jennette’s work focuses on the key strategic issues that impact on the lives of her constituents – improved transport services, crime reduction and affordable housing. Jennette is also a champion in the fight against any form of injustice and discrimination.

Manisha Aatkar joined the Civil Aviation Authority in September 2013. Prior to this, Manisha worked predominantly in

financial services, asset management. She participated in and led various HR and business transformation programmes and mergers and acquisition projects.

In the earlier part of her career, Manisha spent a lot of time playing an active role in mergers and acquisition projects, followed by several organisational design restructures. The latter part of her career to-date has been specialising in remuneration projects, i.e. designing share and incentive schemes and large business transformation programmes.

ELAINE BROWNDeputy Official Solicitor

Elaine Brown has been a Deputy Official Solicitor since October 2014. A Deputy Official Solicitor carries out the duties of the Official Solicitor in his absence. She is currently Head of the Court of Protection Property and Affairs team and the senior lawyer in the Official Solicitor’s and the Public Trustee’s Trust and Deputy Services team.

Previously, Elaine has been an advisory lawyer in at several firms, including the Office of the Public Guardian, The Public Guardianship Office, The Law Commission, The Public Trustee Office, and Grant Thornton and Binder Hamlyn Chartered Accountants.

PAUL BUTLERBoard Member, ACAS

Paul Butler is Managing Director of Butler and Trinity, which provides management consultancy support to organisations in the voluntary, housing and education sectors. He has held a range of national and regional roles as a director and chief executive in skills, education and community development.

He is on the Federation of Small Business Employment Committee and also currently a National Leader of Governance for the FE sector, and has also worked on a number of cross-party panels with ministers on workforce, education and inclusion issues.

Ajay is a Managing Director at BCG Digital Ventures. Previously, he was CEO of Seatwave, which he sold to Ticketmaster, CEO of ComQi, co-founder of IDGVE, Chairman of Shazam, and CEO of LineOne.

JUDY CLEMENTS OBEIndependent Adjudicator and Chief Executive for Higher Education

Judy Clements OBE took up the post of Independent Adjudicator and Chief Executive of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA) in April 2016. Judy has over 25 years’ experience in the public sector. Prior to her current role she served for five years as The Adjudicator for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the Valuation Office Agency and The Insolvency Service in April 2009. Before then she was a Director at the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). She spent four years at HM Prison Service as Head of Diversity and Equality.

JAMES CLEVERLYMP and London Assembly Member

James Cleverly is the MP for Braintree and London Assembly Member for Bexley and Bromley. He was elected to the assembly in May 2008 and re-elected in 2012. He won his seat in parliament at the 2015 general election. A former businessman with a background in web and print publishing, James is also an officer in the Reserve Forces and Chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning authority. He is also Chair of the London Resilience forum, and the Patron of Advocacy For All, a charity helping people with learning disabilities.

LYN COLE England Grantmaking Director, Big Lottery Fund

Lyn has worked for the Big Lottery Fund bodies since 1998 in a number of roles, including leading the development of a new grantmaking strategy for the Fund. Lyn leads a directorate that looks after £450m worth of funding commitments per year, through a team of 400.

JITESH GADHIABoard Member of UK Financial Investments

Jitesh has over 20 years’ investment banking experience, having held senior positions at Blackstone, Barclays, ABN AMRO and Baring Brothers. He has advised on a range of high profile M&A and capital raising transactions across developed and emerging markets.

RAM GIDOOMAL CBE Board Member, Food Standards Agency (FSA)

As well as his FSA role, Ram Gidoomal is also the Chair of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education in England and Wales; South Asian Development Partnership; Allia and Future Business Ltd the Social Profit Society. He is the Chairman of Fair Trade pioneers Traidcraft plc and Traidcraft Exchange and renewable energy company Dulas Ltd. He is a Non-Executive Director of Amsphere Ltd where he chairs the Audit and Remuneration Committee.

He was a candidate for London Mayor for the Christian Peoples Alliance in 2000 and 2004 gaining nearly 100,000 votes in each election.

ASIM HAFIZIslamic Religious Advisor to Chief of the Defence Staff and Service Chiefs

Imam Asim is the Islamic Religious Advisor to Chief of the Defence Staff and Service Chiefs. This role seeks to enhance the Armed Forces understanding of Muslim communities. Asim graduated from an Islamic College as an Imam. In 2003, he was appointed as the first full-time Muslim Chaplain at HM Prison Wandsworth. He provided religious support to prisoners, and advised the prison on the needs of Muslim prisoners. In 2005, he was appointed as Muslim Chaplain to the British Armed Forces, and in 2009 founded the Armed Forces Muslim Association (AFMA).

UMAR HUSSAIN Chief Financial Officer, South Wales Police

Umar became Chief Financial Officer for South Wales Police in 2007. In 2011, Umar assumed responsibility Chief Financial Officer of the Police Authority. Umar is a member of the National Police Treasurers Society. He also is a steering group member of the National Finance Leadership Network.

TRACIE JOLLIFFHead of Inclusion and Systems Leadership, NHS Leadership Academy

Tracie is the NHS Leadership Academy’s Head of Inclusion and Systems Leadership. Known for her work on organisational transformation, Tracie has lectured on leadership and inclusion nationally. Tracie also works with the City Leadership Programme, which invests in the lives of young people from challenging backgrounds.

LORD AJAY KAKKAR Chairman House of Lords Appointment Commission

Lord Kakkar is Professor of Surgery, UCL, Chairman of UCL Partners Academic Health Science Partnership and Director of the Thrombosis Research Institute. He completed his medical degree at King’s College Hospital Medical School and received his PhD from Imperial College London. Lord Kakkar was created a life peer and sits on the cross benches of the House of Lords.

He is Chairman of the House of Lords Appointments Commission, Business Ambassador for Healthcare and Life Sciences, and was appointed member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council in 2014.

SYED KAMALL MEPLeader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament

Syed Kamall became a Member of the European Parliament representing London in 2005. In 2013, he was elected the leader of the Conservative MEPs, and in 2014 he was elected as the Chairman the European Conservatives and Reformists Group. Before entering the European Parliament, Kamall worked as a consultant to companies on marketing, strategy and public affairs. In 2003, he started a diversity recruitment business. Syed is also a co-founder of the Global Business Research Institute (GBRI).

ANNA LO MBENorthern Ireland Assembly, Alliance Party

Elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2007, Anna is the Chair of the Environment Committee, and a member of the Assembly Employment and Learning Committee, Audit committee, Standards and Privileges Committee, as well as a number of All Party Assembly Groups. Anna was awarded an MBE in 1999 for Services to Ethnic Minorities.

HANIF MALIK Board and Executive Member, Sport England

Hanif Malik is the Chief Executive of Hamara Healthy Living Centre. A leading community figure in Leeds, Hanif has served on a number of strategic boards at a local and regional level. Hanif has a keen interest in sport and in enabling individuals play more sport.

AMIN MAWJI OBENon-Executive Director, UK Export Finance

Amin is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of UK Export Finance and UK Trade & Industry. He also chairs the Audit and Risk Committees of UKEF and UKTI. Previously, Amin was a senior Partner at EY, where he held a number of leadership positions including Global Head of EY’s Aerospace & Defence Industries Group. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Kyrgyz Investment & Credit Bank. Amin graduated from LSE in Economics before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. In 2012, Amin was awarded an OBE by her Majesty the Queen.

PAUL MARTIN Borough Commander, Ealing

Paul Martin has been in the police for 23 years. He started work in Wandsworth and was attached to the homicide team before moving on to Lambeth. He joined Ealing Borough in May 2013 as Superintendent Crime. He became the Temporary Borough Commander in October 2014 and in February 2015 was posted as the Chief Superintendent.

He has worked in public events management for a period of time, including the Olympics, being an event manager for the command team for Twickenham, working at Notting Hill Carnival, New Year’s Eve celebration in the capital.

LORAINE MARTINS MBEDirector of Diversity and Inclusion at Network Rail

Loraine leads a centre of expertise which supports Network Rail’s ambition to be a more open, diverse and inclusive business. Previously, Loraine led a multi-award winning team on equality and inclusion and employment and skills in the construction of the London Olympic Park.

DHARMASH MISTRYNon-Executive Director, BBC

Dharmash Mistry is a Non-Executive Director of the BBC Executive Board. He joined the Board on 1 September 2014 and has been appointed for an initial term of three years. He is currently CEO of fast beauty business Blow LTD, of which he is a co-founder.

SHARMILA NEBHRAJANI OBEBoard Member, the Pension Protection Fund

Sharmila joined the Board of the Pension Protection Fund in June 2012 and is also Chair of its Risk and Audit Committee. She is currently Chair of the Human Tissue Authority and Director of External Affairs for the Medical Research Council. Sharmila was previously Chief Executive of the Association of Medical Research Charities after a varied career spanning business, media, technology and health. She spent 12 years at the BBC latterly as COO of BBC Future Media and Technology, managing the business functions of the BBC iPlayer.

ROB NEILMinistry of Justice’s (MOJ) Head of Engagement Networks

Rob joined the MOJ [then Lord Chancellors Department] in October 1983. Starting at Willesden County Court in North London, Rob progressed to Deputy Court Manager before joining the South Eastern Circuit I.T. Team.

As an original member of the MoJ’s Employee Engagement Team, Rob led the design, recruitment and development of Employee Engagement Champions. This pioneering network now boasts over 900 people across the entire MoJ.

SEYI OBAKIN Commissioner, Commission for Employment and Skills

OLUFEMI OGUNTUNDE Director of Finance, The Supreme Court

Femi has been Director of Finance for UK Supreme Court (UKSC) since 2009. He started his career with KPMG in 1991 and has worked across various sectors including public practice, banking and consultancy. His last role before joining UKSC was Financial Controller of Food Standards Agency. Femi serves on the board of two UK Charities and mentors other Finance professionals.

FRANCESCA OKOSIDirector of Workforce Transformation, South East Coast Ambulance Service

Francesca has more than twenty years’ experience across the private and public sectors, including in local government, housing and higher education. Prior to this, she had started a career in marketing and took a break to start her first local government job with East London’s Newham council. Amongst other achievements, she has led significant programmes of transformation and change within large organisations. In addition to this, Francesca has a non-executive advisory role as an employer panel member at the National Employment Savings Trust since 2011.

VICTOR OLISABorough Commander, Haringey

Victor Olisa started his policing career with Surrey Constabulary in 1982. As a police constable and sergeant he gained wide experience of both uniform policing and and criminal investigation. He transferred to the City of London Police in 1990 and spent three years in the Fraud Squad as a detective inspector in charge of one of the investigative teams. He was transferred and promoted to Superintendent of the Metropolitan Police Service in April 2006

Pank Patel has been Regional Schools Commissioner for the West Midlands since RSCs‎ came into being in 2014. Previously Pank had been Head Teacher of Wood Green Academy in the West Midlands .Prior to this Pank had been Deputy Head at two inner city schools in Peterborough.

MAYANK PRAKASHDirector General Digital Technology, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Prakash has a background in the IT industry and joined the DWP in 2014. He is responsible for technology delivery to support the digital services – in effect, the equivalent of the chief technology officer position found in several other Whitehall departments.

RASHMI SHUKLA CBERegional Director for Public Health England , Midlands and East Region

Rashmi is Regional Director for Public Health England Midlands and East region. The region covers the areas of West Midlands, East Midlands and East of England with a population of over 16 million. This is a senior civil service post within Public Health England.

Rashmi is a very experienced public health physician, and concerned with improving and protecting the health of the population, with a passion for equity in healthcare. She has also held a number of senior/executive director positions within the NHS and the Department for Health over several years.

The Honourable Mr Justice Singh became Britain’s first male ethnic minority and Sikh High Court judge in 2011. He was also the first person of Asian origin and the youngest person, at the age of 39 to sit in the High Court.

After spending 18 years in the care system and leaving school with few qualifications , Tajae Tyrell decided to go to university and completed a degree BSC in Criminology. Tajae now works with the long term unemployed and assists them getting back into work.

RT HON KEITH VAZChair, Home Affairs Select Committee

Keith Vaz was first elected in June 1987, and was the youngest Labour Member of Parliament. He was subsequently re-elected as a Member of Parliament 7 times. He was the first person of Asian origin to sit in the House of Commons since 1922.

He was Britain’s Minister for Europe under Tony Blair. He was elected Chairman of the influential Home Affairs Select Committee in 2007 and was re-elected in 2010 and in June 2015. He will serve in the post until 2020.

VIN WIJERATNEChief Financial Officer, Royal Mint

Vin is a Chartered Accountant and has held a number of senior finance positions in the public sector and private sector. He began his career as Assistant Finance Director within the NHS and then joined the Digital Equipment Corporation which is now part of Hewlett-Packard.

He then worked for over twelve years in Orange, the mobile and internet network operator, in their international division. He also worked in their UK business where he was the Commercial Finance Director and then the Director of Strategic Planning. He joined the Royal Mint at the end of 2010.

NICOLA WILLIAMS Service Complaints Ombudsman to the Armed Forces Nicola Williams took up the post of Service Complaints Commissioner to the Armed Forces in January 2015 and the post subsequently transitioned to that of Service Complaints Ombudsman on 1 January 2016. She previously held the post of the Complaints Commissioner for the Cayman Islands.

Wendy Williams joined the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in 2003 as the Legal Director of the London North Region. Before joining, Wendy was a partner in a firm in South London, where she practised for many years in the fields of criminal and child care law.

MIN ZHUAssociate Partner, Electricity Transmission at Ofgem

Min Zhu took on the role of Associate Partner, Electricity Transmission in March 2015. She is currently responsible for a number of areas of the electricity transmission regulatory regime including: assessing and determining efficient costs of major electricity transmission investment projects onshore and offshore, monitoring performance of electricity transmission companies under price control, and leading technical inputs into Ofgem’s wider regulation policy. She previously was an Associate Director of Offshore Transmission and has led other network regulation policy areas in Ofgem.
