VOLUNTEER CREED King Volunteer Statistics: Active Volunteers 272 Meet Our Volunteers Wilfred “Twiggy” Johnson There are many volunteers here at King and we would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for all you do for our members. During the upcoming year several volun- teers will be featured in each issue of The Volunteer. King Recreation Committee Chairperson - VFW Twiggy has been a volunteer at King since June of 2010. He has seven years and seven months of service with a total accumula- tion of 2809 volunteer hours! He earned his 2500 – 2750 Volunteer Award in September of 2017! Twiggy is af�iliated with the VFW and serves as the Chairperson for the King Recreation Committee. He also serves as the Quartermaster and Adjutant for the VFW Post 10544 Heart of the Valley in Combined Locks. Twiggy is an Army veteran who served in Vietnam in 1968-1969. He was also a mem- ber of the Army National Guard for 22 years! He has also served as the Grand Commander of the Military Order of the Cootie, 8th Supreme Commander Military of the Cootie, and the VFW State Commander. Wilfred “Twiggy” Johnson

all, you’ll want to have fun, and be able to push mem-bers who are in wheelchairs. You can get reimbursed if the trip involves a meal.

We are still masking for Flu season! If you have not provided us with infor-mation stating you have received your flu shot and do not have a blue sticker on your Volunteer badge, you will need to wear a mask while volunteering on cam-pus until this provision is lifted (usually in March or April). Masks can be found in each nursing building and at the Marden Center.

If you would like to provide us with information of where, and when, you received your flu shot, please bring in proof. This information will then be placed in your volunteer file. At that time you will receive a blue sticker to be placed on your name badge.

We have a gallery dis play of visual and other types of art created by members. We also have a perform ing arts section in the afternoon when members are given the opportunity to share their talents!February 20 – Café Grand Opening– This is a long awaited day! There will be specials going on in the café all day, a DJ, and Prize Giveaways. The Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be at 1:30 PM in the Café.
