Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How long will it take you to locate my internship? We will begin the process of locating potential New York companies as we receive your registra-tion documents and 25% deposit payment. We recommend beginning this process early - this will allow us enough time to locate potential compa-nies, coordinate the interviews, con rm the place-ment, and assist you in obtaining the J-1 visa. This will also allow you enough time to secure housing and transportation before your arrival.

Will my internship be paid?Because internships are generally considered a learning experience, many are unpaid; however this depends on the company. Some compa-nies may also provide housing or transportation instead of a monetary stipend; however this is not the norm. When you register with us you can spe-cify with your program coordinator if you would prefer a paid or unpaid program; however we will not limit your offers only to paid internships and cannot guarantee payment.

Do I need to be uent in English?Fluency is not required; however your English ability should be intermediate to advanced. You must be able to follow instruction during the internship and perform the required tasks without requiring translation into your native language. You should be able to speak basic (conversatio-nal) English with ease.

When will I know more information about my internship? When your application is selected for interviews we will provide you with information about the company and internship speci cs to prepare you. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with information about a particular company or position before that time.

How long does the internship last? Most internships are 3-6 months; some as long as 12 months. The more exible you are, the better your chances!

Do you provide housing or transportation during my internship? While we do not have a housing or transportation service, we are happy to assist you with accommodation and transportation options and detailed information on accommodation and transportation options.
