Treasurer’s Report

(the Treasurer’s Report was presented by Bobby McClymont, who was appointed as Treasurer in late 2013.

At that time the club’s debt stood at a record level.)

(the Clydesdale Bank refused to extend the club’s overdraft.This decision put the club on the brink of extinction.

Only swift and dramatic action to reduce the club’s debt and a clear plan to control future expenditure

persuaded the bank to allow the club to survive.)

paying fees early and as volunteer workers.)

(The Greens Budget was frozen and a preferred supplier deal was signed with Agrovista - 3 years at fixed prices.

Part-time Greens Staff were replaced by member volunteers.Our Pro left but was not replaced, the shop was run by volunteers.)

(Not only were budgets reduced but no overspend was allowed.All spending had to be approved in advance by the Treasurer.

Such financial discipline was new in the management of the club.)
