The day will begin at 11:30am with bagpipers, the singing of the American and Irish Anthems, and a few opening remarks. At 12pm, the U15 11-aside Gaelic Football tournament begins with teams from New York, Boston and Conneccut. At 3pm, there will be a U15 Hurling match between New York and Boston. At 4pm, playoffs begin for the U15 tournament. Food will be served all day. If you are working on geng your children or grandchildren interested in Gaelic Football, this is a great me for them to see it on display! If you would like to volunteer on the day, please give John McCormack a call at (203) 651-9634. Our drama group are back rehearsing for a wonderful play in November, we have Halfway to St. Patrick's Day in October and many more fun things coming up. All details as known at this time are in the body of this newsletter. We had a wonderful breakfast in August. Thank you to Rosie and her ladies who prepared, cooked and served such a delicious breakfast. Don’t miss the next one coming up in October. Bingo is back and doing well. Breakfast is back and the first one held in August was a good one. Thank you to all who helped in any manner to make it a lovely day. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, Sunday, September 19th, 1pmPlease join the Executive Board for a General Membership meeting at the IACC on Sunday, September 19th at 1pm. Attending these meetings is a great opportunity to provide input on various activities, frequency of membership meetings and other important topics. We hope to see you all there!

JOANIE MADDEN & MIRELLA MURRAY CONCERT, Sunday, September 19th, 7pmIn Partnership with PV O'Donnell CCÉ, Joanie Madden & Mirella Murray will perform a concert at the IACC on Sunday, September 17th at 7pm. They will be joined by a guitar accompanist as well. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased on Eventbrite. You can also visit the P.V. O'Donnell Branch CCÉ Facebook page for more information.

NOMINATION CONVENTION, Sunday, October 3rd, 3pmThe Nominating Committee shall nominate candidates for all offices. Additional nominations of candidates for any of these positions may be made from the floor at this time. Each nominee must be a member in good standing for at least two (2) years prior to the October General Membership meeting. Each nominee must either be present at such meeting or have presented to a member of the Nominating Committee, prior to such nomination, a letter indicating willingness to serve in the capacity for which nominated. The Nomination Convention will take place on Sunday, October 3rd at 3pm at the IACC. NEW HAVEN GAELIC PLAYERS PRODUCTION, Wednesday, November 10 – Sunday, November 14The Gaelic Players are excited to get back on stage to perform a comedy, "Simey's Shadow" by P.G. O'Dea and directed by Sandy Hanrahan. Performances are scheduled from Wednesday, November 10 through Saturday, November 13th at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 14 at 2pm and tickets are $20. Members of the cast are Eileen O'Keefe Roxbee, Karl Ryan, Doreen Keogh Busca, Michael DePascale, Packy Lillis, and introducing Nicole Morin. SAVE THE DATE: NHGF&HC 37th ANNUAL BANQUET, Saturday, November 20th, 7pmThe 37th Annual Banquet of the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club will be held on Saturday, November 20th from 7pm until midnight at Woodwinds located at 29 Schoolground Road in Branford. Please attend as we celebrate and honour the 2021 Irish Man and Irish Woman of the Year, John Mackey and Pam O'Murray. John and Pam are extremely active, dedicated members of our club and both truly deserve this award. Entertainment will be provided by Andy Cooney and the menu includes open bar, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a choice of Prime Rib of Beef, Chicken Parmigiana, Salmon Sophia (grilled salmon with lobster cream sauce and pinched lobster meat) or Vegetarian Lasagna followed by coffee and dessert. NOMINATION CONVENTION, Sunday, October 3rd, 3pmThe Nominating Committee shall nominate candidates for all offices. Additional nominations of candidates for any of these positions may be made from the floor at this time. Each nominee must be a member in good standing for at least two (2) years prior to the October General Membership meeting. MICHAEL McCABE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT, Sunday, September 12, 11:30amCome up to the club on Sunday September 12th for a day full of Irish sport and culture to remember our own Michael McCabe. The day will begin at 11:30am with bagpipers, the singing of the American and Irish Anthems, and a few opening remarks. At 12pm, the U15 11-aside Gaelic Football tournament begins with teams from New York, Boston and Connecticut. At 3pm, there will be a U15 Hurling match between New York and Boston. At 4pm, playoffs begin for the U15 tournament. Food will be served all day. If you are working on getting your children or grandchildren interested in Gaelic Football, this is a great time for them to see it on display! If you would like to volunteer on the day, please give John McCormack a call at (203) 651-9634.

MICHAEL McCABE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT FOOD SIGNUPWe are in need of some salads, desserts and individual packaged snacks and chips for the Michael McCabe Memorial Tournament on Sunday, September 12th. Items will need to be dropped off at the Irish club in morning at 10 am so we can have them for set up. Please sign up for what you can bring!
