One of the main services a Chamber provides, to its members and to the com-

munity, is connecting a person that is searching, with what they are searching

for. In today's internet saturated culture, making sure your company's online

presence shows up in web search results is almost as important as having a

phone number that potential client can call. After, how can they call you if they

don't know you're there.

Without getting too technical, here's one way Chamber membership boosts

your likelihood of popping up in those search results: membership listing on

our website provides backlinks for you.

What is a backlink? A backlink is when

website A (in our case the Chamber of

Commerce) has a link that goes to web-

site B (your website!). Our website links

back to yours.

So how does it help you get found

online? Here's a snippet from Moz.com, a

company that specializes in optimizing

websites to pop up in search results.

"Backlinks are especially valuable for

Search Engine Optimization because they represent a "vote of confidence"

from one site to another. In essence, backlinks to your website are a signal to

search engines that others vouch for your content. If many sites link to the

same webpage or website, search engines can infer that content is worth link-

ing to, and therefore also worth surfacing on a search result."

Chamber office as frequently nowadays, but we're still helping people and

members find each other, one backlink and one conversation at a time.

The Chamber will be stuffing 400 goodie bags this September! With the start of July, Autumn in Bonham is only three months away. Time to think about the goodies planned for the event.

Based on the increase of riders from our previous years, and expanded interest we’re receiving through our marketing

channels, the Chamber of Commerce anticipates 400 riders in the 2018 ride. And each rider will receive a goodie bag full of helpful information like parking and places to eat or visit, and special rider discounts, and, always a point of curiosity—SWAG! If you want to include something in these goodie bags, don’t worry about stuffing ALL 400 bags. Use this opportunity at the scale that works best for you. Bonham Smiles, a new comer to Bonham and

our Chamber, held its official ribbon cutting Thursday

morning, June 28th for their brand new office at 2008

N. Highway 121, Suite 100. Staff were on hand to lead

tours, answer questions, and award prizes. Radio

station 92.7 Kiss FM and Dixie, Miss Teen UPRA

helped welcome visitors and ramped up the

welcoming and fun atmosphere.

Bonham Smiles is a full family dentistry office,

they care for all ages—from “diapers to dentures”!

The office boasts a special children’s waiting room

area with interactive technology and toys to help

keep your little ones occupied and stress free. They

accept both appointments and walk-ins. Bonham

Smiles will also be offering implant services.

Carleton House Bed & Breakfast Owners Karen & Steve Halbrook moved to Bonham

in 1994 and opened the Carleton House Bed &

Breakfast at 803 N Main in April of 1996 and have

been proud Members of the Bonham Area Chamber

of Commerce since then.

With several historical restorations, Karen

and Steve can accommodate business guests,

children, and those looking for handicap

My Clutter opened its doors at 403 N Main in 2014 and

continues to be operated by owners Bruce and Gail Burnham.

Originally from Houston, the Burnham’s have been a substantial

addition to our community, receiving New Business of the Year for 2014. Their store, My Clutter, is a retail gift, home décor, vintage, and antique store. They strive to be the area’s most unique shopping experience and specialize in vintage finds and antiques.
