NEWS Detwilers The mosaic of 2014

Last fall, my mom fell and broke her hip. We are proud

of how hard she worked to get back up on her feet.

She was moved to assisted living shortly after rehab and

is doing very well.

Our dear friends Dick & Jeanne Olson retired from TWR after

53 years. Dick was our Field Leader when we arrived at our

first assignment in Swaziland in January 1983.

This past year has been a wonderful mosaic of events and people. As we sat and reminisced, it was amazing to us all that happened in twelve short months. Enjoy some of these special moments from the last half of 2014 .

Curt gave us all a scare being taken from TWR in

an ambulance after suffering a heart attack. The

placement of a stent and starting rehab has him

well on his way back to “normal.”

Exactly one week after Curt’s heart attack, we

managed to have a collision with a pickup truck.

The air bags did not go off, so there is some hope

that repairs can be made. In the meantime, we find

ourselves in a beautiful rental.

Of course, Ray’s wedding was our biggest event

of the year. What a special time it was and what

a joy to welcome Lindsay into our family!

We were able to celebrate Christmas at a concert with old

family friends Bob & Ella Williams. I (Carol) have known the

Williams since childhood. And they were at our wedding

forty years ago.

While visiting Ray and Lindsay in Dallas we were

sitting across from them at dinner exactly as you see

us: Curt with his sister Kathy and wife (me ☺) and

Ray with his sister, Katie, and wife, Lindsay!
