Drum Majorettes,better known as “Drummies,”
began in the 1970’s with ‘marching girls’ performing in street parades to music played
by a pipe band.

z Welcome zWelcome to all our old and new Saints, Saintees and
their Parents.
The St Dominic's Drum Majorettes have been around for over 37 years, it is one of the oldest drum majorette teams in South Africa. We are all very proud of what the Saints teams past and present have managed to achieve, the accolades awarded to the team over the years being too numerous to mention.
The girls would not be able to achieve all of this without the support of YOU their parents. To the girls just glancing at the stand and seeing the " Saints Sea of Red" is reassurance that Saints without a doubt is "one team one heartbeat".
YOU, the parents and the supporters are very important and help show the girls just how much you as parents support their sport and acknowledge what a privilege it is to be part of the St Dominic's Drum Majorette team.
During competitions while the team is on the field (during any stage) please remember that you are part of the Saints family. Saints, the team and parents are always respectful of other teams and their supporters and are both graceful in winning and losing. During prize-giving when the results are being announced, Saints supporters always:
Allow a team the opportunity to congratulate their own team on their results (Saints supporters never cheer over another team).
Saints supporters do not make any assumptions on the final result until the result is announced.
We look forward to seeing the stands being filled with the traditional "sea of red" at the competitions for the 2015 season.- Sharon Antonizzi

NationalsThe 2015 season is from January to June, ending with Nationals in July. For our new parents, Nationals is held once a year. The various leagues and all the Drum Majorette Squads compete for the title of Champion of Champions.
This year Nationals is from 08 – 11 July 2015, and will be held in Bloemfontein.
We are in the process of finalising the cost per drummie for Nationals (travelling, accommodation, food, etc). To ease the financial burden of Nationals we will be finalising the cost within the next month to allow parents a longer period to pay for these costs, as we will require a non refundable deposit towards Nationals at the end of March 2015, to secure their accommodation and transport.
We are looking at accommodating the girls at one of the University’s Hostels and will be making a “block booking” as in the past, at a hotel, for the parents and supporters.
These details will be sent out soon.
Drummie FeesDrummie SubsThe subs for drummies for 2015 is R285.00 per month payable from February to June, an annual figure of R1425.00. To ease the administration burden (as the school very kindly performs this function for us) we have agreed that for 2015 the entire years subs will be invoiced in February. Parents may continue to make their monthly payments or a once off payment.
Look out for your invoices and statements. You will be receiving them soon.
