Where None was Growing //

with AGRICO

So reports Sam Swayze Superintendent of

the famous Sankaty Head Golf Club, Nantucket, Mass.

"It was decided last fall lo start a fairway devel-opment plan because ihe fairway turf was tliin and spotty. Il was thought that a great deal of reset-ding and rcloariling would be nccessary. After miking J applications of Agrico for Turf results were so gratifying that a tontinued feed-ing program was al] that was necessary. The over-all picture one year later has shown remarkable results produced by this program; dense, darkly colored turf that has been most gratifying to our members.

During hot summer months I feed Agrinite every 7 to ft days together with most nil my other chem-icals by means of a Propnrtioner. This practice has been highly satisfactory, resulting in excellent color, growth and texture throughout the season."

Order Your AGRICO NOW ....... and he sure of a well balanced fertilization program, loo. Use AGRICO and AGRINITE. (the better 100% natural organic Nitrogen Fertilizer with over Nitrogen), See vour regular Agriio Dealer, or write to The AMERICAN AGRICULTURAL CHEMICAL CO., Ml Church St. New York 7.

Bothersome tournament problem now for pros is that of getting a "minor

| league" ol tournaments scheduled . . . .So many tournaments now are invitation af fairs that lesser known pros say they're being frozen out of chantes to get ex-perience and a chance at the big money . . . Problem of getting first class courses for tournament circuit events is serious , . , Winter events, played when turf is at its worst on many of the tiruiit courses, are frankly discussed by pros as being more tests ol luck than of golf skill.

Guesses — and they're onlv guesses — is that Masters next year will be cut to about fill after first 56 holes . . , Wviiii Tread way and Lee Kosten making rapid progress with their lft-holr Sarasota (Fla.) CC now uiider toujour lion . , , Expect io open course in December . . . Fairways are Uganda . . . Treadway and Kosten own considerable residential properly Itordeling ihe course,

Linda, 6-year-old daughter of trick-shooter, Chuck Lewis, and quite a trie k-shoimaker herself, got big publicity in NY Golf Show , . , Miss Heide Haggc, the Bauer granddaughter who is about two now. also was cute little Miss Golf who had a lot of pictures taken . . . Bntk
