SNMP / WEB MANAGER o Ethernet manager for the monitoring and control of UPS, Transfer switches, Inverters, Air conditioners, etc.

SNMP V3 for all CS121 Products SNMP V3 for all CS121 Products from June 2011! Since 1999 all products of the CS121 series use the SNMP V2 RFC1628 andthis is known as the “UPS Standard MIB”. In 2009 we implemented the 1stencoding technology with the RCCMD SSL encryption to make RCCMDshutdowns secure and dedicated to senders in the network. This means thatour products are now operating in a secure section in the same way as bankinginstitutions and defense engineering operate. From June 2011 the SNMP V2 will also be encrypted, the so called „SNMP V3“.All products of the CS121 series will be able to answer SNMP V3 encryptedSNMP requests and send SNMP V3 Traps. A CS121 firmware upgrade to the 4.30.x version is required, if you want to usethis technology. The download will be available from June 2011 on the Generexwebsite.

UNMS Support for EATONs Web/SNMP Manager "Connect UPS" with Temperature Sensor "Environmental Monitoring Probe" EMP Our monitoring software UNMS II support our own Generex SNMP Card as wellas other SNMP cards (e. g. MGE, SOCOMEC, APC, EMERSON, CHLORIDE,MASTERGUARD, GENERAL ELECTRIC, RIELLO NETMAN) and is alsocompatible with the EATON SNMP card „Connect UPS“ . As of now it is possible to monitor the connected environment sensors using type „EMP“ withthe UNMS II Software.

Battery Test-Optimization at CS121 and UPSMAN Software for low-end Chinese UPS Unfortunately most of the low-end UPS systems can provide some unreliableinformation during the execution of an internal battery test. A typical problem is having too smaller load during the battery test and in thissituation the UPS usually displays „OK“ or when the load is to high when theUPS can switch itself off. An additional problem might also occur, if the batterytest is not executed long enough. Therefore a lot of customers dismiss this battery test completely for the abovereasons. We have therefore developed the function „Battery Health Level“ for the UPSManagement Software and the CS121 as the solution. This function is theoptimal solution for these type of UPS systems with so far insufficient batterytests capability. The operator can now control with this new function the degree of fall-off of thebattery voltage that is required. This value is dependent on the load range ofthe UPS. At high load, a level up to 30% can be stated, which can be adjustedby the end user to 5% at low load. Therefore the battery test can now provide a reasonable result than before. Theoperator now gets the security to execute an acceptance test in a situationwhich equates to normal operation of the UPS.

NEW NEW BACS Modules C20 and C30 Order number: BACSC20 and BACSC30 From May 2011 we will launch our new and innovative BACS 20 and BACS C30Modules! These modules have a new look externally with new and improvedfeatures, it is a new innovation in the BMS market: Low Profile - The new profile is 3,1mm lower and 25mm slimmer than the previous version REV. 2, but is a little bit longer (dimensions: 79x54x22mm L-W-H). Integrated Temperature Sensor - The battery temperature sensor is nowintegrated on the underside of the module housing. The contact between thesensor and the surface of the battery is assured by the high and constantpressure of the Velcro strip which fixes the module itself to the battery. Advantage over Rev2 is more precise temperature measurement and lessinstallation effort and maintenance compared to the external sensor version.This new BACS module may also be ordered, as an option with the externaltemperature sensor. Optimized Cooling - The new housing REV 3 has new ventilation slots, andare designed to allow the air to exchange between external and internal air flow.This air flow assures heat removal during the equalizing process. We are alsoable, due to the optimization of the software of the BACS Modules, to deliver anidentical performance of the equalizing process in comparison to the REV 2Modules, with lower component temperatures and therefore less surface heat ofthe new REV 3 Module. The maximum temperature is 12k (Kelvin) at fullequalizing performance. Any impact of the BACS Module temperature will besuppressed through the air cushion from the isolation of the Velcro. As long asthe minimum requirements to a battery room/housing are fulfilled the EN 50272-2 & EN 50272-3, no temperature effect on the batteries is possible. Standard Corrosion Coating - Every module from REV 3 will be delivered witha special protective coating against corrosion. This special coating at request forREV 2 is now our standard with REV 3, unique within the market for batterysensors today! No module is better protected against the extreme aggressiveenvironment of a battery room.

A failure can occur unnoticed from the operator e.g. at an alarm of thesudden internal resistance increase or slowly rising voltage at an accumulator.The outcome could be a rising of the voltage up to 100V which goes along withincreasing temperatures. The installed safety fuse within the power cables wouldtrigger when the BACS measuring cable see a fast rising of the voltage orimpedance, but when there is a situation when a slow rise in voltage could occurand this would still induce an overheating and cause damages. This revisedsafety switching of the REV 3 will trigger the safety fuse when such a situationtakes place that a critical voltage is reach but in a slower period. This safetyswitching makes BACS to the most secure accumulator sensor worldwide! NEW Blast Protected Areas - The C Module of the REV 2 could be used in ATEX94areas, areas of group 2, category 3, zone 2, T1. ATEX set the level of thetemperature, which should not be reached at the components level to avoid anignition of gases or gathering of dust. The new C Module of the REV 3 can beused in areas of group 2, category 2, zone 1,21, T3! No other module on themarket provides this! Certification - All BACS C Module of the REV 3, all measuring cables and all BACS WEBMANAGER will be manufactured out of UL and ETL approvedcomponents. New BACS Module C42 for NiCd and NiMH Accumulators The BACS C42 is the first module within our range of products that is adapted for the operation on 1.2Volt-, 1.5 Volt- and 2Volt accumulators. Therefore theBACS C42 can be used in systems, with NiCd- and NiMH accumulators! In thissituation internal resistance is not relevant for the „Battery Health Status“therefore the voltage and the temperature measurement will be used for theappreciation of the parameter only. Our patented „Equalizing“ process, a feature on this product, also assures that the ideal charging voltage is available for all Niaccumulators. Certainly BACS C42 can be used for 2Volt lead accumulators too. Please note,that the RI measuring is not supported. BACS Manufacturing Start Up in Brazil Following our major sales success with the BACS C 20 REV 2.2 in 2010, wehave now experienced unexpected supply difficulties. Precision Measuring Cable BC4xx Order number: BC4xx The measuring cable BC4xx is a precision measuring cable, which is used withthe BACS C40 Modules. The difference from the original measuring cable is,that the new cable uses 2 ring eyelets, to assure a measuring accuracy of10µOhm. Furthermore we utilize specially developed safety fuses for this measuring cable, which are approved for a voltage of 1000VDC.

NEW BACS Measuring Cable for C Module REV 3 Order number: BC5MCxxxx The BACS measuring cable BC5 is used with BACS Modules C20 and C30. TheBC5xx measuring cables are equipped for the DC area with 1000V safety fusesespecially in accordance with the new safety requirements. We have improvedthe measuring accuracy of the impedance therefore, associated with the newC20/C30 REV 3 Hardware. The BC5 cables are equipped with two different safety fuses for the BACS REV3 and therefore are no longer compatible with the older BACS C 20/30 REV 1.4or 2.2. The new measuring cable has a coding to allow it to be distinguishedfrom the BC2 cable.

New Items LonWorks, Profibus, Profinet Our product range is supplemented with these two new converters. They are also at a cheaper price than the prevoius Profibus models. Bothconverters are using the COM 2 interface of the CS121 SNMP Web Adapterand convert the MODBUS data into Profibus or rather LonWorks formats. Both models are available now. LONWorks Converter Order number: CS121_LON The LONWorks Gateway convert all CS121 default MODBUS values, which arepresent via COM 2, to the appopiate LONWorks SVNT´s. CustomizedMODBUS addresses can be adjusted on request. Input voltage range 10-33V. The scope of delivery contain a 12V power supply and a serial connection cableto the CS121.
