I hope you’ve had an enjoyable festive break and maybe even got a little sailing in too.

It’s been great to get in touch with many of you over the past few months and I am looking forward to visiting many of you in the near future. If we don’t have a date in the diary to meet yet please get in touch to arrange this.

FREE WINTER SERVICE FROM TOPPER INTERNATIONAL LTD

For 2020 we are looking to increase the number of schools sailing in the East Region, and will be supporting Clubs and Centres over the coming months to make this happen. To this end, we’re really keen to know who you are already working with – it’s something we will be discussing at our meetings, but if you could drop me an email with the names of schools you are currently working with, along with the age group and number of sessions that will help to give us an idea of current activity in the region, and whether you have capacity to grow this activity.

We are pleased to say that the partnership between the Andrew Simpson Foundation and RYA to provide subsidised instructor courses is continuing into 2020. It includes:• Pre-entry• 5 day instructor course• Moderation• Safeguarding courseIf you have potential candidates aged 16+, who hold PBL2 and a First Aid Certificate who are looking to volunteer on your OnBoard sessions please get in touch to find out how we can help.

The RYA East Region fleets can be hired by Clubs to help you increase participation. Rates are very reasonable and Toppers, Optimists, Teras and 2000s are available. Have you got some newly qualified instructors you’d like to celebrate? Maybe some of your students have worked especially hard this season or gone on to achieve great thing with their sailing.

Whatever the story we want to hear it and tell it here on our newsletter.

A huge thank you to the OnBoard Clubs that have been sending data each month for your activity. As you are hopefully aware, reporting activity is vitally important, as it helps to evidence the impact of OnBoard, and means that we can continue to support your activities.
