FROM THE CUYAHOGA VALLEY
GREAT ISSUES ON THE GREAT LAKES For those who missed Dartmouth Hillel Rabbi Edward Boraz speak on “Project Preservation” last April, we have DVD copies of the students’ trip to Eastern Europe including their visit to Auschwitz and their service work preserving the Jewish cemeteries of this region. You’ll remember that the students examine the question of how the policy of genocide came to be adopted and implemented and its effect on a particular Jewish shtetl, or town. This town then becomes the focus of their restoration project. If you’d like to see the DVD, as they say, that could be arranged. Let me know, [email protected].
FUTURE EVENTS… [JUNE] MONTHLY LUNCHES…the next east side lunch is TUESDAY, June 11th , at PEARL OF THE ORIENT restaurant (20121 Van Aken Blvd. in Shaker Heights) starting at 11:45. Contact Allan Vendeland ‘57 ([email protected]) for further details. The next downtown lunch is FRIDAY, June 28th , at PuraVida (puravidabybrandt.com) on Public Square. We’ll meet at 11:45, hopefully on the outdoor patio. Let Tom Wise ’89 know if you will attend ([email protected]) and if you’d like to be informed about downtown lunches in the future.
