‘Be the best you can be’
Dear Parents, Governors and Children,
WELL DONE
Well Done to Megan Broad who has achieved her Marlin certificate in swimming.
BLOOMING GARDENS
We would be grateful if you could ensure that your children do not walk on our planted areas when you bring them to or collect them from school. The bulbs are now beginning to sprout and we don’t
want them being squashed before they have s chance to flower. Thank you.
TRAFFIC SAFETY AT SCHOOL
Please ensure that you and your child use the crossing patrol warden when coming to and from
school. This helps teach children about road safety and is far safer than trying to cross the road
between parked cars. It also sets a good example to those children who come to school
unaccompanied.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
Please do not use the school car park as a short cut onto the school premises. This can be a very
dangerous place, as we have deliveries and dustbin lorries at all times of the day, as well as staff
entering and leaving. Please make sure you use the small gate to enter school premises, and insist
that your children follow your example. Thank you for your co-operation.
SPORT RELIEF – FRIDAY 19TH MARCH
This year we are supporting Sport Relief on Friday 19th March, and are asking children to attend
school in sports clothes that represent a sport that they do out of school. This could be football,
martial arts, basketball etc. Alternatively they could wear something to represent a team they
support. During the day, the children will also take part in the Sport Relief Mile. Donations should
be brought for this event, and either given to your child’s class teacher or left with the office.
Many thanks for your support.
EASTER DRAW
Next week the children will bring home tickets for our
Easter Draw; these are priced at £1.00 each. There will
be many lovely chocolate prizes well worth winning. The
draw will be made at school on Tuesday 30th
March. Please complete the information on the Golden Ticket and
return it to school together with £1 to be entered into
the draw. Thank you for your support.

CHANGE TO TRAINING DAY – NOW FRIDAY 2ND JULY
As you are aware, we are a polling station, and as such school is closed on Thursday May 6th for the
General Election. However, we have changed the date of the Training Day scheduled for Friday 7th.
School will be open on that Friday, but will be closed on Friday 2nd July instead. We are sorry for
any inconvenience but thought you would appreciate the early warning in case this affects yourchildcare arrangements.
FUNDRAISING PTA MEETING
We are holding a meeting of our Fundraising Group at 3.45 p.m. on Monday 8th March. This is to
discuss future fundraising events at school. If you would like to come along and bring some fresh
ideas to the group, you would be more than welcome, and we look forward to seeing you.
INCLUSION IN OUR NEWSLETTER
If you wish your child’s achievements to be celebrated in our ‘Well Done’ section, please collect a
Newsletter slip from the school office, or send details in writing. Any items received byWednesday will be included in that week’s edition. Items received later will be included the
following week. Thank you.
VOUCHERS FOR SCHOOL
School would be grateful for any current Tesco or Sainsburys vouchers that you might receive with
your shopping. Many thanks.
