Information on the Blessed Edward Powell Transport Trust(BEPTT) North Somerset ParentsThe Blessed Edward Powell Transport Trust (BEPTT) wasestablished in 2010 by a group of Catholics concerned aboutchanges in the transport arrangements to designatedCatholic schools which were adopted by North SomersetCouncil in 2008. The effect of these changes means that, inmost cases, parents are now expected to meet the full cost of transporting their children from North Somerset to St Bedes .This has meant that, for many families who would like their

children educated in a Catholic school, the costs of gettingthem there was simply too high. The aim of BEPTT (aregistered charitable Trust) is to raise money to help thoseparents in North Somerset who want a Catholic education fortheir children but whose financial circumstances precludethem from doing so. In the first two years of its existence, theTrust has been busy fund-raising and is now in a position tohelp some families meet the cost of getting their children to aCatholic school. The Trust can be contacted through itsChairman, David Byrne, c/o St Bedes Catholic College, LongCross Lawrence Weston, Bristol BS11 0SU or [email protected] .
