As we enter Week 10—it is a bitter sweet time for Tarro Public School. We will farewell an outstanding group of Year 6 students off into the big world of high school while celebrating the responsible and respectful adults they are becoming. We also look back with pride at our achievements this year including our playground, Wakakiri, sporting opportunities, public speaking and so many more. I also look at the individual growth each and every student has achieved. Presentation Day Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and community members who made our Presentation Day last week such a success. I was speaking with some people afterwards about how I loved the mix of formality with a relaxed atmosphere. Congratulations to all the award winners. Thank you must also go to the Tarro PS staff who worked so tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen. 2017 School Leaders At our Presentation Day, I also had the pleasure to announce our 2017 student leaders. Congratulations to Jett, Kalari, Kali and Regan and I know you will do us proud. Thank You Finally, I would like to thank the staff, community and most of all the students for making my year here such an unforgettable experience. I leave with a heavy heart but no regrets with what we have achieved together this year in shaping respectful, responsible students who always strive for their personal best. The End is Here

As we enter Week 10mdashit is a bitter sweet time for Tarro Public School We will farewell an outstanding

group of Year 6 students off into the big world of high school while celebrating the responsible and

respectful adults they are becoming We also look back with pride at our achievements this year including

our playground Wakakiri sporting opportunities public speaking and so many more I also look at the

individual growth each and every student has achieved

Presentation Day

Thank you to all the parents grandparents and community members who made our Presentation Day last

week such a success I was speaking with some people afterwards about how I loved the mix of formality

Stay home with

siblings or parents who are sick

Staying away for a

whole day when an appointment is booked for a short time in the morning or afternoon

The weather for

example itrsquos too hot too cold raining

Students staying at home for these reasons will be marked as an unjustified absence Regular attendance helps your child develop the skills needed to access the world of work and other opportunities and learn the importance of punctuality and routine

The canteen currently operates 3 days a week on Mon Wed and Fridays From a childrsquos perspective one of the most exciting parts of going to school is the canteen The children love it Which leads me to inform you that we are struggling to keep the canteen open due to volunteers We need your help Please if you could spare some time to volunteer in the canteen it would be very much appreciated especially by your children grandchildren Please see Aunty Chris Sam Kulupach or the office if you would like to come and help Unfortunately we are also coming to the point where it may be necessary to cancel canteen days if we are unable to replace volunteers when they become unavailable
