    ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTSVocabulary and Spelling

    Wordly wise has continued this week. Students

    are in charge of 15 words each week for spelling

    and vocabulary meanings and different ways to

    use each word.

    Reading and Writing

    All readers and writers have been working hard

    to understand different forms of poetry. Thisweek students focused on poetry styles of

    limericks, shape poems, animal poems, and

    couplets.

    Poetry Books

    All books are due by April 25thsee homeroomteachers website for more details.

    SOCIAL STUDIES WITHMS. TEXTOR

    Students have learned all about the location

    Latin America and the varying climate within.

    the next few weeks they will discover the anci

    people of Latin America including The May

    The Aztecs, and The Incas. Next week will be o

    tour of the Mayans. Students will take a look

    who they were, their daily lives, and what th

    had contributed to our society today. There w

    be an upcoming Latin America project, so be

    look out!

    MATH WITH MR. OWENSAll Math students will be continue

    their geometry units going into

    next week.

    Rotation 1 will be focusing on thedifferent types of polygons.

    Encourage them to make flash

    cards of all their vocabulary

    words for this unit.

    Rotation 2 will be working on

    congruence and geometric

    transformations (translations,

    rotations and reflections).

    Rotation 3 will be working on

    perimeter, area and volume.

    SCIENCEWITHMRS. LEE

    Scientists worked with particles inthe form of food coloring this week

    to determine how heat energy

    affects acceleration and

    deceleration. They tested the

    particles against three different

    types of water of which included

    room temperature water, ice cold

    water, and how water.

    Students will move on to study

    wave types starting on Monday

    and then to sound and light.

    Box Tops for Education

    Each teacher has a collection box in their

    classroom for Box Top labels. Please

    continue to send in those TOPS! Thank you

    to all of the families who have already taken

    the time to cut the box tops. We appreciate

    your support and time!

    Students can wear any school appropriate

    outfit for this picture day as it is casual day

    at school. Families do not have to pay in

    advance and will have the opportunity to

    view the photos before purchasing them.
