Winter is over and today is the first day of spring I hope it brings us all somewarm sunny days and blooming flowers

The good news for Victorians is that they are over halfway through their stage 4restrictions and the recorded number of daily cases of COVID-19 continues tofall so therersquos light at the end of the tunnel

In this newsletter I am pleased to announce that each Award Committee has aChair and Deputy Chair with the Deputy Chair taking on the full responsibilitiesas Chair in 2021

For those of you that follow me on twitter (ProfAngeCarbone) you will havenoticed that 2020 AAUT nominee registration is now open We have had apromising 264 assessors expressions of interest to date which is a 32increase from last yearrsquos numbers My team and I are looking forward toreceiving your institutionrsquos nominations

More good news to further recognising the incredible efforts of the academicsrsquocontribution to the sector Universities Australia is reinstating the CareerAchievement Award This award is occasionally awarded to one or moreindividuals whose career achievements in learning and teaching in highereducation have had a major influence and left an enduring legacy

Finally although the 2021 AAUT Ceremony will be held on

Wednesday 2nd June 2021 Universities Australia will formally announce therecipients at the end of February 2021 More details to come
