The Machane Miami Herald The Week Past: BOYS DIVISION The Boys Division had a spectacular week with an assortment of exciting activities and competitions. For Israel week, the boys made Israeli flags and learned Halachos of the Nine Days and Tisha Ba’av from the learning Reb- beim, Rabbi Schwartz and Rabbi Drang. Tuesday featured a unique oppor- tunity to collect money for tzedaka while also getting in a water activity for the Nine Days. The boys did a Charity Car Wash and raised over $100 while having a great time turning each clunker into a sparkling new Lexus! Then on Wednesday the Boys went on the summer’s grand trip to Ninja Lounge! The boys displayed their athletic skills on the trampolines, rope courses, rock climbing walls and more! The fun continued Thursday with a water balloon toss competition and an amazing magic show for each bunk by their own Head Counselor, Shuey Parnes! The Boys also enjoyed daily water park to keep them cool and entertained! Friday promises to be just as exciting with some surprise activities planned! GIRLS DIVISION The Girls Division had an inspiring week as they created beautiful silver Ko- tels and a Shivas Haminim Shmittah Map made out of the different fruits and produce of Eretz Yisrael. The girls enjoyed a taste of Yerushalayim by mak- ing fresh pitas and challahs! They then partook in some classic Israeli past times like Chamesh Avanim (aka Kugelach) and Israeli jump rope. After that, the campers were rewarded for their excellent behavior and efforts as they cashed out their tickets in a prize store and also received their Chai Lifeline prizes. On Tuesday, the girls had a blast in their Car Wash as they raised $185 while helping their mother’s head home in newly-shined minivans. In Meira Wunsch’s Dance Class, the Girls worked on floor drills as they continued to improve on cartwheels, handstands, and even back handsprings! Art Class by Leah Klagge began an exciting 2-week art project entitled “A window into Yerushalayim”, where the girls created intricate drawings of the Old City and will paint their sketches next week. In Dance by Estee Grossman, the girls learned some Israeli Dance steps. Chani Richmond’s Choir Class worked on the songs and motions for “Kol Ha’Olam Kulo” and “Naar Hayisi” while the Drama Class featured different movement and expression games as well as miming skits. JUNIORS DIVISION The preschoolers had a blast this week as they got to enjoy the water parks on both sides of the campus! For Israel Week, they designed and created a Yerushalayim poster, bikurim baskets and slippers for Tisha Ba’av. They also made adorable Challah boards out of Popsicle sticks with an accompanying personalized and decorated challah cover. They then got to take a bite out of their delicious Sefer Torah Shabbos treats that they made! Meanwhile, in Estee Grossman’s Dance class, the Juniors marched to acapella music in their own Machane Miami band! Chani Richmond played sports with the campers as they practiced catching, kicking and running in the kickball/baseball com- bo game: Catch and Run! For Israel week, their other workshop with Chani Richmond featured a book about Eretz Yisrael as the campers colored pic- tures of the kotel and discussed what they would say to Hashem if they had a chance to daven at the Kotel. Thursday’s exotic Animal Show was amazing as the campers saw (and held!) a 20-foot python, a real-life honey bear, a fox and more! Friday featured their Shabbos parties and an assembly. Our tour in the Holy Land of Israel was supremeWith our Bikurim baskets of fruit for the Kohanim.

Because Israel is the land of milk and honey, so sweet,A Torah of candies we made for our Shabbos treat.

To set the Shabbos table, we are so elated,With our very own challah, challah board and cover that we created.

Then we held a python and rubbed its scalesWhile the honey bear and anteater hung from their tails.

So fasten your seat belts and lets hear the clicks, Next stop is the Carnival in Machane Miamis Week Six!
