It’s hard to believe that 2010 is almost over and with the holiday season upon us there’s no better time than now to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful customers. We’ve had another great year here at Ottavio and we’d like to thank everyone in Victoria who continues to support our busi-ness and make us a success. We love what we do here and we all take a certain amount of pride know-ing that many of our customers have been coming back to us for over 10 years and new customers are venturing into our store everyday. So here’s a toast to the holiday season and the New Year upon us, we wish all of you the best in 2011!

ChristmasRunning low on time and energy? We’re here five days a week to help you sort out whatever party treats and delights you need to make your seasonal get-together a tasty and stress-free occasion. We’re bringing in plenty of seasonal cheese favorites that we only see in December, as well as an abun-dance of new and returning seasonal products. We offer a menu of hors-d’oeuvres and various cheese and charcuterie platters that come in a variety of sizes and price options for your entertaining convenience. We’ll also make beautiful cus-tom baskets and gift boxes to match any budget and tastes. Please keep in mind that we do require a minimum of 48 hours notice for all of these items when ordering so we have the time to prepare your orders properly.

Entertaining S.O.S.

Don’t forget Panettone, made by our friend Cliff Leir from Fol Epi. This traditional Italian Christmas bread is made with all or-ganic ingredients and is on the shelves for a limited time only! Panettone is better aged for at least a week so don’t wait until the last week to get one for the holidays…..they also ship very well!Please call ahead and pre-order for any of your bakery needs from panini, croissants, to bread and Panettone; it all goes quickly in December, and with advanced notice we can adjust our baking requirements as well as save you from disappoint-ment, so please give us a call at 250-592-4080. *Due the high volume of calls in December there is a chance that some messages might get missed on our answering ma-chine, so please make sure to talk to one of our employees directly about your order to make sure we’ve recorded it.*

No, we’re not carrying champagne this year, but we do have a tasty alternative that’s all the way from the UK. We have also added a wide assortment of virgin nut oils to our collection. Huilerie Beaujolaise produces high quality and unique oils & we’re carrying a variety of them, including: sesame, roasted peanut, almond, pistachio and even pine nut oil. Strong and flavorful, these oils should be used sparingly and are perfect to dress up a salad, chèvre, fish, meats, pestos, soups, & fondues.

Oil and Vinegar

Unique and tasty, these dressing are from the Netherlands and provide a departure from your regular vinai-grette. With flavours like Ginger Wasabi and Orange Rosemary how could any salad taste bad? We’re also carry-ing their Garlic Mayo as well as their Peppa Sauce, a spicy, creamy condiment.
