WISE WORDS FROM THE PRINCIPAL

BEHOLD, OUR SHINING STARS

CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY CHECKPOINT

Three of our Year 6 students has shown great

improvement in their studies by achieving Excellent

results (Score from 5.0 to 6.0).

Aifi Dhameer, our student who started his journey in

NIS since Year 1 said, “I don’t think hard work is my

style but I give my hundred percent attention in

class”. He has achieved 6.0 for his English and

Science however 5.6 for his Math.

This is the last week of Term 3 thus completing the academic year 2016/2017. To our NIS students, during your time

at NIS, you have develop qualities which describe the knowledge, skills and personal abilities that you will need as

you move into a constantly changing global economy. You are acquiring an international outlook, a capacity for

critical thought and lifelong learning, an ability to communicate effectively and work independently cooperatively

and have a sense of social responsibility. You are constantly equipped to succeed, to be confident in the knowledge

and skills you possess.

CAMBRIDGE SECONDARY 1 CHECK POINT As recognition for their excellent results in the

April 2017 Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint

Examination, seven Nilai International School

(NIS) students were honoured with Excellent

Achievement Award. The three best students,

namely Harsha A/P Ravindran, Ain Zuhayra Binti

Muhammad Razi and Natalia Nafisa Binti Mhd

Hasnizal received ‘Excellent’ results for all the

three subjects (English, Mathematics and

Science) in the examination.

Among the best students, Harsha achieved full marks in all the three subjects. Additionally, four students received

two ‘Excellent’ and one ‘Very Good’ results in the examination. They are Abid Nahian Chowdhury, Lee Kai En, Tan

Shyng Yuin and Nurul Aliya Binti Mohamad Asif.

The completion of every level of your education requires effort, discipline,

focus and personal motivation. Congratulations on your achievement

irrespective whether it is outstanding or average. Congratulations must also

goes to those who have supported you on your academic journey

particularly your family and friends.

I wish you much success and happiness for the future. I hope that NIS had

serve you well giving you the skills and experience to achieve your dreams

as well as the firm belief that you can.

Haikal Arif has received two 6.0 for Math and Science and 5.1 for English as First Language in Primary Checkpoint.

Haikal mentioned in one of his sharings in class that he loves Math and he revises his subjects daily and follows his

teacher, Miss Pam’s advice on doing so. He frequently asks questions and takes his lessons seriously in class.

Zarif Afiq, received excellent results in Math (5.9) and English (5.7), however in Science, he received (4.6) which is

labelled as Good in the Cambridge International Examination.

RAYA CELEBRATION AND OPEN HOUSE

Wow…First Raya Open House at NIS on 8th July 2017. Through the

event, we have the chance to meet up with each other and share our

views, listen to ideas and feedback for NIS to move forward and

become even better!

All prizes were successfully given to all the winners. Our students had

gained a new skill: “Menganyam Ketupat”. The primary group consist

of Izzati, Jien Xuan, Mabrooka, Yong En and Yi Shin; Secondary

represented by Zhen Lin, Ain, Aliya and Uzeir won the prizes for the

competition. Best Dressed Family is highlight of the day. All parents

dressed up their best to support the event. We also announced the

winners of the school video competition and the videos will be shared

on FB later.

RAYA PRE-CELEBRATION…..so colourful and wonderful !

The Pre-celebration was held on 19th June 2017

and students and schools members came with

their best Malay costumes and enjoyed the

performances performed by our students.

The youngest group from EYFS seems to be

the happiest one and all dressed with colorful

Malay costumes. Cute!

SPORTS CARNIVAL 2017

Wow…all about sports and games! 24th May 2017 was the

nosiest day in the campus as all members are moving

around for the carnival.

Events started with cross country to warm up the stamina

and followed by indoor games in the multipurpose hall for

primary group and EYFS. Board games, swimming,

basketball, football and badminton are part of the event.

Book worms are transforming into butterflies!!!!!

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Teacher is a work of Heart. They are the inspiration.

They are the creators for future leaders!

As appreciation to teachers’ great work, the Teacher’s

Day Celebration was held on 21st May 2017. This was a

whole day event which involved all the staff members

and students. This day, the games no longer just meant

for students but also participated by teachers and staff.

Performances, games, sports and roles play fashion

show game such a memorable time for all members.

GRADUATION NIGHT YEAR 11 – CLASS 2016/17

Graduation Night for class 2016/17 was

successfully held on 20thMay at Putrajaya

Lake Club. The event was planned since last

year Oct and it’s took months to realize the

event. Thanks to the organizing committee:

Alex, Wan Dalila, Chrys, Akram, Nizar , Lee

Sock Ming, Chan Lee Wai, Mardiana and

Shaliasalwa, your hard work is truly valuted

and greatly appreciated. It created the

precious moment for the graduands and

families who attended to the event. It’s

priceless gift from the beloved teachers.

SCHOOL TRIP TO PETROSAINS

Science is so much more interesting and fun if we understand how it impacts our life. Math and

Science Club had organized a trip to Petrosains on 4thMay 2017 and we had a chance to be exposed

to varieties of science activities and understand the concept and theory of the applications. It’s fun!

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Term break will start from 15th July until 3rd Sept 2017

2. Term 1, 2017/2018 will commerce on 4th Sept 2017

3. ALL term fees, deposits and increases in deposits are payable on or

before 4th Sept 2017

4. Bookstore will be closed during the school holiday. The operating

schedule and book list will be emailed to parents and guardians for next

action
