COMMITTEE CONTACT INFORMATION
Hello everyone,
Well the 2009/2010 show season is quickly approaching & we
are starting the huge task of organizing the Invitational Show
that is to be held in October & thinking about the NH&HS.
As you will be aware, the AGM & High Point lunch was held on
the 5th of July at the Blumberg Hotel Birdwood. It was a
great afternoon with over 40 people attending. It was great
to see so many new & familiar faces. Unfortunately I did not
get around to speak to many people but I hope they all had a
great afternoon. The results of the High Point will be in this
newsletter along with photo’s. As in previous years we had
several young children who participated in the High Point & I
hope to see them out & about again.
We had a few new High Point Perpetual trophies given out this
year, 1 was kindly donated by Dot Whyte in memory of her
son. I thank her for donating such a lovely trophy for the
Senior Handler. The 2nd Trophy donated was by Les & Joan
Jansford in memory of their Stallion El-Jay Benjamin which
was awarded to the High Point Colt. I am sure these trophy’s
will be treasured by the award winners.
One of the subjects discussed @ our AGM was the proposed
amendment of our constitution. It was unanimously voted
that any non standard Buckskin that is to be put up for either
foal or adult classification will be DNA color typed. This
motion was brought up due to our color classifiers finding it
very hard to come to our classification days due to other
commitments & we need to have something fool proof to
classify these animals. Any members that have a non standard
Buckskin already registered through SABA will be contacted
in the next couple of months to have their animal color tested
at the expense of the SABA. This will hopefully stop the
comments on the side lines of “Why is that horse in the Bucky
ring?”. The changes to the constitution will be in this
newsletter so please attach it into you constitution & if you
have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact
me.
I would also like to welcome Robyn Champion & Matthew
Billington to the committee. Robyn has kindly offered to help
me out as show assistant & Matthew has offered to be our
Newsletter Editor.
Well I think that’s all for now & I do hope to see you at the
shows this year.
Cheers
Leah

ROLL OF MERIT
Two graduates this year
• Deldrac Calypso Olympiad gained his superior ROM (250 points)
• Earlswood Arabesque gained her 150 and then went on to achieve her superior roll of merit as well.
We were fortunate to have nine high point shows this season and our members took every opportunity to get out there and
compete.. The points scores were high, the results being very close in several of the classes and that all important atten-
dance point was the deciding factor in the placing in at least two of the awards.
We thought our new look trophies were well received, we are working on the reinstation of the SABA logo on the new tro-
phies for the coming season o and hope that you will all want to get out there and go for it. Happy hunting. Wendy

WHAT’S HAPPENED TO THE BUCKY CLASSES AT THE
GAWLER SHOW?????????
Leah has contacted the Gawler Show regarding the Buckskin Ring and why it has not been included in
this year’s program. It has been removed due to lack of entries. Last year a total of 1 horse was shown
in the Buckskin Ring!
The Gawler Show Committee will put on a Bucky ring next year if we can guarantee entries.
Would members who are interested in showing at this show please let Leah know.
Please note that the Gawler Show was not a High Point Show and did not run under SABA rules.
The same applies to the Royal Adelaide Show. If we can guarantee entries, they may consider including
a Buckskin ring in the future.

terisked*. Perpetual trophies winners also receive a replica trophy to keep.
The Roll of Merit award is based on perpetual accumulated points for high point and non high point Buckskin rings (foal and adult), not the show season. For
your points to count for the season you must return your nomination form. A certificate, small sash and plaque/trophy is awarded only upon nomination.
Junior Encouragement Award ALL nominations receive a rosette/sash and trophy/plaque.
Promotional Award Even if you do not attend shows, you may be eligible for this award which is designed to encourage members to promote Buckskins. Atten-
dance at any event except for other breed rings will qualify you, e.g. ‘show and tell’ at the local school or other community facility, a trail ride, PC/ARC rally, a clinic, encourage shows, etc’.
Oh Lord Wont You Buy Me...
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.
My friends all ride warmbloods, I must make amends.
I practice my leg yields, each evening 'til ten.
So, oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck
I'm tired of trying to land standing up.
I spend all my time, brushing dirt off my butt.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.
I count all my fingers and toes every night.
I feel like a carrot, when I'm in his sight.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.
Mine is scared of his own shadow, it's driving me insane.
I ask him to do things, but he forgets his own name
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean.
I brush him, I groom him, I've considered chlorine.
His color's too chestnut for a horse with grey genes.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean.
Oh Lord, won't you give him some hindquarter drive.
This horse is so lazy, I'm not sure he's alive.
We bend and we circle, 'til way, way past five.
So oh Lord, won't you give him some hindquarter drive.
